SILVER RELICS: Generic. giovedì, 23 maggio 2019 22:38 by madseason
Silver Relics - Generic.

Silver Relics is a New York City-based rock band formed by vocalist/multi instrumentalist/songwriter Alex Sepassi and drummer Justin Alvis.

Drawing influence from the iconic British songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s and brooding '80s rock, Silver Relics deliver a psychedelic sound that simultaneously smolders and electrifies with fierce energy, conjuring vibrant technicolor dreams and scenes of breathtaking adventure.

After relocating to New York in the Spring of 2017, Sepassi and Alvis were determined to record a collection of songs prior to their departure. "What makes these songs different for me is how we were able to capture a snapshot of all the things that surround a life changing move in a very short period of time... the excitement, the uncertainty, the risk, the anticipation, the massive fucking anxiety just to name a handful," Sepassi says. "I think these are experiences that a lot of people go through often and you certainly don't have to move across the country to identify with this concept. It's very human."

Silver Relics continue to resonate with their listeners and to extend their reach since they began performing on New York stages in late 2017. Their live performance and style has often been compared to their artistic influences: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Duran Duran, Joy Division, The Verve, Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, The Doors, Pink Floyd and The Beatles.

Silver Relics have just released their debut album, Generic.: throbbing with urgency, it is a thrilling collection that focuses on change and all of the complicated feelings that go with it.

THE BLANKO: Stimulation Paradise venerdì, 17 maggio 2019 21:39 by madseason
The Blanko – Soul To Soul

The Blanko are a Finnish alternative rock band formed in 2006. The group consists of Pauli Hauta-aho (lead vocal and guitar), Jakke Saarinen (drums) and Jykke Tikka (bass).

Their music is a sort of "modern retrorock" that combines different styles, like power pop, alternative rock and hard rock, with infectious melodies, harsh interpretation, as well as a whimsical melancholy that is especially transmitted in the band's most peaceful songs.

The band, that cites as ingluences Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley, Rage Against The Machine, Muse and Nirvana, is an energetic live act blessed with an intensive charisma and stage presence.

The Blanko new, third full-length album Stimulation Paradise was released last April 26 via Flying Colours Records. Produced by the band with additional production by Jonas Olsson, it features the leading single Electric Desire.

Stimulation Paradise testifies the band's growth as songwriters and musicians: strong, addictive and intense, it's one of the best Finnish albums of the last ten years.

OWEN-GLASS: The Rope & The Rabbit venerdì, 10 maggio 2019 21:27 by madseason
Owen-Glass - The Rope & The Rabbit

Last month I posted about Owen-Glass -the emerging duo of of singer-songwriter Kelly Wayne Conley and guitar prodigy Cole Humphrey- and their beautiful single Saint.

Saint is off their brand new debut album The Rope & The Rabbit, released today via August Eckler Media.

The Rope & The Rabbit was produced and engineered by David Beck, mixed by Beck, Conley and James Campbell at Cibolo Studios in San Antonio, TX, and mastered by Evan Bradford (The Avett Brothers, Dierks Bentley, Dawes) of Mixtown USA in Los Angeles, CA.

Of working with Conley, Bradford said, "I truly enjoyed working on his music and am honored to have been a part of this album. I personally find it difficult to box music into really specific genres, but I also feel that the best songs and albums don't necessarily fit into a nice little box, and this definitely falls into that category for me. There is clearly a theme and concept that threads the whole album together, and I love how it speaks to me."

The Rope & The Rabbit is a delicious record for those who approach music with an open mind: the Americana influences merge perfectly with a smooth jazz sound sometimes enriched by the always fascinating '70s-style keys, sometimes by a passionate alto saxophone or a vibrating electric mandolin.

In all, Owen-Glass produces a mysterious and intriguing sound, providing a little something for everyone while maintaining a cohesive character and a rare and refreshing authenticity that leaves fans wanting more.

H.E.R.O. - Humanic

Three piece rockband from Copenhagen, Denmark, H.E.R.O. are releasing their debut full-length album Humanic today, April 26, via Mermaid Records.

weChameleon's addicted already know that I have a spot for this band. I really dig their songwriting, the way they gel hard-hitting guitarriffs, big choruses and pop melodies to shape strong yet easily enjoyable songs.

Humanic include previous released singles This Means War, Higher, Dangerous and Superpowers. The last one is currently at the #1 spot of the Official Japan Radio Airplay Charts: recently the band played in Japan as support act for Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators and signed for Sony Music Japan International!

H.E.R.O. is Christoffer Stjerne on vocals/guitars, Søren Itenov on guitars and Anders Kirkegaard on drums: they're all super-talented and Humanic is a mandatory listening. Check it out clicking on the image.

Scattebrain: new single for KULICK giovedì, 18 aprile 2019 21:57 by madseason
Kulick - Scatterbrain

Scatterbrain is the title of talented singer/songwriter Kulick's new single, released last March 29 via GRNDVW/Gold'N Retriever Records/RCA Records.
Scattarbrain, a follow-up to last year's debut EP Hydroplane, was written by Jacob Kulick with his good friend and talented musician April Rose Gabrielli, recorded in his studio and mixed by Adam Hawkins (Twenty One Pilots, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Muse).
"Scatterbrain is a song about today's busy society, both young and old, and the constant battle to stay true to who you are. Deciding to fight the resistance to not be who you are in order to please others, gain attention, and popularity. We're spending too much time focused on our phones, our material selves, and our digital lives instead of focusing on our self discovery, physical lives, and dreams." says Jacob, adding "It also has undertones of fighting the person or people who aren't good for you, even if they pretend to be. It's also about choosing to always fight for what is right, even when the world is leaning the other way. I feel the most proud of this song than any other song I've released so far. I'm evolving, I have more hands in the creative process, and I feel proud of myself for that. Which is a big achievement for me. I don't want to be a singer; I want to be an artist. With this song, I feel like I made a piece of art."
Scatterbrain is an excellent Alt-Pop Rock track that leaves me eager to listen to more new stuff from Kulick: check it on YouTube (click on the image) or on Spotify now.

Rising stars: KING NO-ONE martedì, 16 aprile 2019 21:57 by madseason
King No-One - Under the Sound

Indie/alt-pop rock King No-One, from Yorkshire, released their debut EP OOMM last March 29 via LAB Records.

"It's finally time for us to release a body of work, it's difficult to explain the gravity of this to us. We've travelled the UK continually, grafting with no investment from anybody but ourselves and you the beautiful public. Playing on the streets, 5 sets a day over 12 hours - 2 to 3 times a week for 5 years.
That's what we had to do with no funds, and it's been harder work and soul destroying than you could imagine. Because we know, and those of you that watch us in concert know where our future lies. We've never had a support tour, radio play, blogs or playlists because we use our money to pay living bills and what we have left goes into recording
.
But yet thousands of you come to our shows despite us not having the budget to reach you, and that's simply down to word of mouth. Our concerts are what keep us going, because that stage is our home, and we love welcoming you there. But this EP is where we make our home a town." said the band about the release, adding "This EP stands as the true beginning, but not of King No-One. It stands as the beginning of you and us, in the true underground of music where the people choose who they want. The songs are a collection of dramatically different feelings in the last couple years that Zach has felt and expressed in this record. Confidence, fragility, an inspirer, the inspired - Feeling the power to effect the balance of this world, to feeling the weight of his own mind crushing him to nothing."

King No-One has all that it takes to become huge: great sound, infectious melodies, massive singles, attitude, a strong work ethic and perseverance.

If you still don't know King No-One, stream OOMM on Spotify, watch the video for the latest single Under The Sound clicking on the image and catch them live as soon as you can.
