WORLDWIDE PANIC: Break Me Down Friday, 1 November 2024 15:48 by madseason
Worldwide Panic - Break Me Down
Hard Rock/Alt.Metal band Worldwide Panic have released their furious new track Break Me Down. It's the first release from the Los Angeles, CA based band's upcoming sophomore LP, which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2025. The song was produced by the legendary Bob Marlette (Seether, Airbourne, Saliva, Rob Zombie) and mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Demon Hunter, Rob Zombie). The track is a rant against authority figures who try to break you down and control you through mind games.
Break Me Down starts off with a middle-eastern flavored sitar line, and then explodes into an ominous down-tuned rhythm, bolstered by crunching guitars and thunderous drums that sounds like equal parts Disturbed, Rammstein and Rob Zombie. The earworm chorus lingers long after the track has ended – making for a compelling anthem of frustration.

Worldwide Panic frontman Lane Steele says "The song - like almost all of our songs - has a rich backstory. We were looking for producers to hire to work on our new material. We met with a famous producer at a multi-million dollar studio. We were told that our material wasn't good and "Where's the hook" - when its staring you in the face the whole time. We left and simply said to each other "Why should we work with someone who wants to break us down, just to build us up again?" And then the song was written within the next 48 hours. We recorded the song with a legend, Bob Marlette. He and his family poured their hearts and souls into this track. It helped make Worldwide Panic sound bigger than I could ever imagine. The experience was great and I am super proud of this track."
The video for Break Me Down was directed by Andre Brown and filmed @ Monarch Film Studios in Los Angeles. The performance piece is raw and expressive, and conveys the emotion of the song.

With influences that range from Rammstein, Rob Zombie, and Disturbed, Worldwide Panic has a heavy Alt.Metal sound, with an industrial tinge. They released an eponymous LP, Worldwide Panic in early 2023. The LP was mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Demon Hunter, Rob Zombie). The release made inroads at Active Rock Radio, charting with the singles I Tried (#23 on the Billboard Rock Indicator, #11 on the SMR Chart ) and Falling Apart (#25 on Billboard Rock Indicator and #6 on the SMR chart).
Worldwide Panic brings a unique theatrical experience to its live shows - their performances are packed with dynamic energy and excitement. Fans across the hard rock and metal spectrum find their music fresh and engaging. They have toured with Flaw, Smile Empty Soul, Hellzapoppin', Mushroomhead, and The Convalescence, among others. The band has done several headlining tours in the last 5 years.
They recently completed work on their self-produced 2nd full length LP, which was again mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris. The album is slated to be released in the 1st quarter of 2025. Tour dates are in the works to begin in late spring of 2025.
THE WILD FEATHERS: Sirens Friday, 4 October 2024 18:30 by madseason
The Wild Feathers, Sirens

How would you define The Wild Feathers? Some may immediately check a box for Americana –and they wouldn't be wrong. Others may lean on a version of rock: country-rock, folk-rock, heartland rock. They'd all be right, too. Blues? A Southern flare? Occasional punk attitude? It's all in there. Now, it's time to hop on the bus and sing along.

The longtime Nashville band returns this year with Sirens, a new LP of road-worn, sharply-woven tales chronicling a life worth living, love worth holding and the hard-earned lessons found along the ride.

"As a band, we feel like Sirens has captured the musicality of the band more than any other record. In a time where there are very few bands in general, this album sounds like 5 people creating a collective vibe. Where each member has moments to shine and can't be replicated without the time, place and personnel"

To cut the follow-up to 2021 album Alvarado –the band's debut on independent label New West Records– The Wild Feathers decamped from Music City, U.S.A., to Los Angeles for sessions with producer Shooter Jennings (known for his work with Brandi Carlile, Turnpike Troubadours and Tanya Tucker, among others) at Dave's Room in North Hollywood.

Listen intently and without genre in mind. Because when the so-called Sirens make their sound on this new album, don't worry about how to define it. Just enjoy the ride.

SAINT SOCIAL: Holiday Forever Friday, 12 July 2024 13:59 by madseason
Saint Social - Holiday Forever

Indie rock band Saint Social has released their latest single, Holiday Forever, addressing the idea of embracing one's entire self and finding bliss despite past anguish. The track serves as the closer to their upcoming full-length album. Stream and download Holiday Forever now on all platforms worldwide.

With vivid, imaginative lyrics alongside the band's distinct blend of pop, rock, and synth elements, the song showcases the bright side of their catalog and strives to instill listeners with the same jittery excitement as going on an actual holiday. "Holiday Forever marks the culmination of the narrative arc on our upcoming full-length album," explains lead singer Quinn Erwin, who wrote and co-produced the track. The single also plays as an anthesis to the power-centric opening track, Swagger, released earlier this year, and represents the band's beachier and sweeter side. The songs showcase two sides of the Saint Social coin, and both feature the lyrical motif of the tiger. "Holiday Forever speaks to the healing and ultimate joy of being embraced for everything a person embodies. It also conveys the thought that heartache can add up to something good in the end." The unabashedly, earnest celebratory track was mixed and co-produced by Hunter West (Little Image, The New Respects, Mountains Like Wax) and mastered by Joe Causey (Underoath, Switchfoot, The Dandy Warhols) at Voyager Mastering.

Hailing from the Gulf Coast, Saint Social is an indie rock band comprised of lifelong friends Quinn Erwin, Bryan Bourque, and Justin Gollott. The group’s contrastive sound comes from their individual life experiences and struggles. The trio credits their lifelong friendship and devotion as the catalyst behind their band’s success despite being spread across three Southern cities from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to the Florida Panhandle and Birmingham, Alabama. While Bourque and Gollott balanced professional careers and local band gigs, vocalist Quinn Erwin had previously found success with his band Afterlife Parade in licensing placements for film and TV shows on MTV, Netflix, and Hulu, as well as in commercial spots in Super Bowl LIII and BMW. The band pulls on influences from bands like The Killers, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, U2, and Coldplay while adding their twists of talent. Their music has been featured on antiMusic, Kill The Music, Melodic Magazine, and more.

The lyrics and imagery of Holiday Forever are some of the wildest of the batch, further emphasizing the song's unabashedly joyful and carefree spirit. Embodying the band's desire to share this upbeat, summer-ready track with their fans, you can stream Holiday Forever on all platforms worldwide and keep up with the band on their Instagram @SaintSocialOfficial and TikTok @saintsocial.

WAYS IN WAVES: Ovum Nova Friday, 14 June 2024 19:20 by madseason
Ways In Waves - Ovum Nova

Ways In Waves is the brainchild of Brian Raine, a multi-instrumentalist and music producer living out of Edmonton, Alberta. His project combines aspects of rock, art-pop, and electronic music together into a mixture that propels the listener through controlled chaos.

The song Ovum Nova initially began as a project with the YouTuber known as Polyphonic who also created the music video for the band's last single Who In War. Noah of Polyphonic is an incredibly prolific visual artist, and for years now he's been making album covers for bands that don't exist. Brian and Noah thought it would be fun to put music to these, and Ovum Nova actually began as a single from one of these fake bands called The Ptarmigans

For Brian, it's amusing that it almost feels like he's stealing from the fake band, The Ptarmigans, somehow in releasing this song. It really felt like he was able to harness a different element of his creativity given this slightly absurd premise.

"Oftentimes, when I've had to confront grief in my life, I've found that it's tough to put your finger on how it's going to manifest, when it's going to show its face, and how to deal with it," says songwriter Brian Raine. "To have coherent words expressing this just seemed so antithetical to the ethos of this song. And so I made Ovum Nova into an incoherent expression of grief. The lyrics speak about futures that could have been, the futile process of seeking solace and not finding it, all within the mood of being trapped at a house party in a thunderstorm. Counter-intuitively, the song is very energetic, and one of the more punk influenced things I've written, which serves as a sort of facade for these very sad lyrics to hide behind."

HER LEATHER JACKET: Cut Me Up Friday, 10 May 2024 18:36 by madseason
Her Leather Jacket - Cut Me Up performance video

Drawing from personal experiences, Her Leather Jacket pours their heart into every chord and lyric of Cut Me Up. The song's poignant lyrics, written by Aaron Gillespie (of Underoath and The Almost) and Cameron Walker (of Twin XL), explore the inner turmoil of feeling unworthy despite being showered with affection. Through anthemic choruses and introspective verses, listeners are invited to delve into the complexities of love, feeling exposed, and self-worth. "For us, the song is about someone questioning if they are good enough for their partner, and at the end of the day, they are there with an overwhelming, staggering kind of love," the band shared in a statement. Cut Me Up is a cathartic release for anyone who has grappled with feelings of inadequacy in relationships. Its relatable lyrics and infectious energy resonate with listeners, offering solace and solidarity in moments of doubt. With its dynamic instrumentation and emotive delivery, the track encapsulates the essence of pop punk while delivering a powerful message of self-acceptance and growth. Cut Me Up was produced by Aaron Gillespie, mixed by Matt Huber (Smallpools, Boys Like Girls), and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Adam Grover (Green Day, Zach Bryan). Ethan Howard was brought in as the drum recording engineer.

Hailing from East Nashville, Her Leather Jacket is swiftly making waves as a dynamic duo, seamlessly blending elements of pop-punk and alternative rock in their music. Lead singer Manny Blu, who had previously made his mark in country music, felt compelled to explore his musical vision upon relocating to Nashville in 2018. It was here that he crossed paths with drummer Wes Snyder, forming a partnership that would ignite their creative journey. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like Blink-182, The All-American Rejects, and All Time Low, Her Leather Jacket unleashed their debut self-titled EP in the fall of 2023, embracing the vibrant energy of post-pop punk. In 2024, they are embarking on their 'Fuck You' era with an EP that promises to be both eagerly anticipated and chaotically epic. At the heart of Her Leather Jacket's ethos lies a simple yet important mantra: "Make good fucking music and have a good fucking time."

BLACE: Crash and Burn Friday, 19 April 2024 18:39 by madseason
Blace - Crash and Burn

Blace has released his first official single, Crash and Burn, a pop-punk-inspired track delving into themes of emotional chaos during a relationship. Crash and Burn is available now to stream and download everywhere.

Crash and Burn combines a punk rock edge with emotionally vulnerable lyrics to create a unique and passionate rock piece. Pulling from his real-life experiences regarding the decision to stay in a tough relationship, Blace dives deep in hopes of reaching an audience that has been through something similar. The track opens with enticing vocals and powerful lyrics and then quickly explodes into a high-energy call-and-response style chorus. The single is reminiscent of the early 2000s pop-punk/emo scene, parallel to the sounds of My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. "Crash and Burn was a song I wrote a few years ago," says Blace. "This is a special song, and I knew I wanted to release it. It is very relatable in the sense that lots of people have experienced or are still experiencing being in with someone who makes their life harder. And even though they are in turmoil, they still choose to stick around."

With an artist moniker that pays homage to iconic figures of rock and roll, Blackie Lawless (of W.A.S.P.) and Ace Frehley (of KISS), Blace officially began his music career three years ago when the pandemic sent him home from college. His nomadic upbringing from Maine to North Carolina and Minnesota ultimately led him to establish roots in Los Angeles, where he cultivated his artistic legacy. Drawing inspiration from the raw energy of Motley Crue and early pop-punk bands like Green Day and Sum 41 to the theatricality of KISS to the dark allure of Ozzy Osbourne, and the lyrical contents of MGK, Juice WRLD, The Kid Laroi, Blace's sonic landscape traverses the contours of rock, punk, and alternative genres with effortless fluidity. Through passion and perseverance, Blace embodies the transformative power of music to transcend boundaries and inspire greatness.

On its surface, Crash and Burn is a catchy and exciting new pop-punk song, but looking deeper, one can see that it is a story about the trials and tribulations of love. You can download and stream Crash and Burn on all platforms worldwide, and be sure to keep up with Blace on Instagram and TikTok @blace.wav.
