Nashville's rock band The New Schematics have just independently released their sophomore EP Your Year last Friday, February 24.

As I wrote when featuring their debut EP, The New Schematics officially began as a duo, with Cory Bishop (vocals, guitar) and Michael Bare (bass, vocals), who brought a rotating cast of bandmates on the road with them.

A few months after they pulled him on stage for a guitar solo in New York City, Shanan Lau left the band that was opening for The New Schematics in order to join Cory and Michael as a full-time third member.

It's this line-up that played on Your Year, with the help of Danny Pratt on drums and producer Andrew Bergthold (Chris Tomlin, for King & Country, Blanca) on synths, keyboards and programming.

The first single released from the EP is the title track: "This is for everyone. For the blank-slate-seekers and resolution-makers-and-breakers; those waiting on love to come around and for hope to stick around. This is gonna be YOUR YEAR" said the band promoting the single.
