The New Schematics - Your Year

Nashville's rock band The New Schematics have just independently released their sophomore EP Your Year last Friday, February 24.

As I wrote when featuring their debut EP, The New Schematics officially began as a duo, with Cory Bishop (vocals, guitar) and Michael Bare (bass, vocals), who brought a rotating cast of bandmates on the road with them.

A few months after they pulled him on stage for a guitar solo in New York City, Shanan Lau left the band that was opening for The New Schematics in order to join Cory and Michael as a full-time third member.

It's this line-up that played on Your Year, with the help of Danny Pratt on drums and producer Andrew Bergthold (Chris Tomlin, for King & Country, Blanca) on synths, keyboards and programming.

The first single released from the EP is the title track: "This is for everyone. For the blank-slate-seekers and resolution-makers-and-breakers; those waiting on love to come around and for hope to stick around. This is gonna be YOUR YEAR" said the band promoting the single. Watch the official video clicking on the image.

If you like honest modern melodic rock with classic sensibilities that draws from a dynamic mix of musical styles and influences (The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Dawes, The Cars), then stream the Your Year EP on Spotify.

The New Schematics - The Breakdown

This is absolutely a band to keep an eye on: The New Schematics, from Nashville, are basically a duo composed by the two best friends Cory Bishop and Michael Bare. They will release their self-titled debut EP, financed by a successful Kickstarter campaign (where they raised $9.000 in just 14 days), next October 2.

On the EP, recorded in a studio in Franklin, TN, with producer Andrew Bergthold (Chris Tomlin, for King & Country, Blanca), the duo is joined by John Briggs on vocals and electric guitars, Eric Montgomery on keys and synths and Ayrton Gauerke on drums and percussion.

The New Schematics play honest, modern rock with classic sensibilities that draws from a dynamic mix of musical styles and influences (The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Dawes, The Cars): have a taste of Bishop & Bare sound watching the videos for they first two singles, Born Without Borders and the just released The Breakdown (click on the image above).
