the killers

A couple of weeks ago I featured The Killers' new single "Runaways", the first off the upcoming fourth studio album for the guys from Las Vegas.

Today Brandon Flowers & Co. released the official music video for this single: it's a simple yet classy and effective clip that you can watch clicking on the frame here on the left.

The new album "Battle Born" will be released on September 18 through Island Records; click here to see the cover art.

The Killers

The Killers premiered their brand new, much awaited single "Runaways" today: the song is the first to be lifted from their fourth studio album, titled "Battle Born" and set to be released on September, 18 through Island Records.

"Battle Born" is also the name of the band's studio and a nickname for their home state: Nevada became a state during the US Civil War, that is where the nick comes from. "In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better" said frontman Brandon Flowers.

A series of big producers worked on the new record, including Madonna collaborator Stuart Price, Steve Lillywhite, Damian Taylor, Brendan O'Brien and Daniel Lanois. Phew...

The knob-wiz behind the new single "Runaways" is Mr. Lillywhite. The song is a typical The Killers' heartland   rocker that fans of the band will enjoy for sure: listen to it clicking on the cover pic above.

The fire still burns for HARD-FI martedì, 27 settembre 2011 23:24 by madseason
Hard-Fi

Hard-Fi released their third studio album "Killer Sounds" last August. I think it's a return to form for the english guys, after a weak sophomore record. The new work is full of catchy tunes that mix indie pop rock with dance beats, synth wave with a Clash attitude. "Killer Sounds" features the singles "Good For Nothing" (watch the video here) and "Fire In The House" (click on the image on the left). But I can assure you that these aren't the only songs with great hooks on the record.

The band is playing the last gigs of the british tour and in November they'll be in continental Europe for a bunch of dates. Head on to the Hard-Fi website for a complete schedule.
