Become friend of FRIEND SLASH LOVER mercoledì, 24 aprile 2013 22:12 by madseason
friend slash lover

Friend Slash Lover are an alternative pop-rock band from Los Angeles, fronted by Connecticut native, all-around artiste Josh Mintz, an impressive vocalist with a wide vocal range and a beautiful voiceprint.

FSL are influenced by the likes of The Killers, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, John Lennon and blend electronic sounds with gentle guitar riffs to create captivating, mature songs with meaningful lyrics.

Their latest six-track EP is titled "The Grey Area" and was produced by Oleander's mainman Thomas Flowers. Really nice stuff, and the titletrack reminds me of Manic Street Preachers, a bonus point if you ask me... SATELLITE release debut album sabato, 20 aprile 2013 14:29 by madseason

ashville alternative rock quartet Satellite released their debut full-length album "Calling Birds" last month via Descendant Records/Sony Music.

The album, produced by guitar player and songwriter Mitch Allan (remember him in great band SR-71?), features 11 tracks, including the 6 songs that formed 2010's debut EP "Ring The Bells".

"Calling-Birds is meant to reference the one sound in the night that reminds you the sun's coming up. Like maybe the songs point out something making life a little easier, and, that in more ways than not, we aren't facing it alone," main songwriter/lead singer Steven McMorran explains.

If you listened to that EP, you already know what to expect from "Calling Birds". If it's the first time you read of Satellite, I can tell you they sound like a mix of One Republic, Snow Patrol, Kings Of Leon and Coldplay with a touch of Americana and US rootsy rock: a great sound enriched by haunting melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Check some of the songs of the new album on Soundcloud.
