ZIV Symphony Heart review giovedì, 25 agosto 2011 15:45 by madseason
ZIV is a piano alternative rock band from Los Angeles that takes the name from its leader, the Israeli-born Ziv. Completing the band we find Josh Taddeo on bass and Mark Hartman on drums.

"Symphony Heart" is Ziv's third overall album.

In the 13 tracks that compose the record you can find traces of great piano-driven alternative bands like Coldplay, Jack's Mannequin, The Fray, but even californian Thriving Ivory, expecially for the voice of Ziv that sometimes reminds me of Clayton Stroope's one: deep, emotional, melancholic at times.

It's hard to find a favorite track in such a good album, very strong from start to finish. Maybe I could choose the Keanesque titletrack, or the soul-oriented "Lay Down", that sends shivers down my spine; maybe the moving "A Love Like This" or "Everything You Wanted", with its rich texture and its brilliant melody.

OK, I should name 'em all... what can I add? Great songs, very good sound, brilliant arrangements, excellent musicianship (by the way, Ziv played most of the guitars, bass and all of the keyboards: wow): there's everything. If you don't trust me, head over their website and get a glimpse of their art now!
