Royal Teeth - Hard Luck

American indie pop rockers Royal Teeth released their sophomore album Hard Luck at the end of last month, via Round Hill Records. The record marks the band's long overdue comeback to indie rock, with a progression in their sound that exudes energy and conviction.

No stranger to the ups and downs of the music industry, they're signed to their third label in just over six years. "There were days where I just accepted that this was probably going to be over soon," vocalist Gary Larsen recalls. "Something finally switched inside of me. I decided that if we are going down, then we are going down swinging."

Feeling inspired to create new songs with a new fresh sound, the quartet whole-heartedly decided it was worth a return to the music scene.

Never Gonna Quit, the first single, serves as a mission statement for the album, boasting loudly the ability to take a shot to the chin and continue pushing forward. Thrashing, punk-inspired The Best takes on a tongue-in-cheek response to the cutthroat nature of the industry, and Rivalry shows a deep seeded desire for both self-discovery and acceptance, stating "I just want to feel like I belong to myself, to anyone."

"It is easy for me to lose confidence in myself," Gary states. "This line of work can be difficult. It requires you to be vulnerable and put yourself out there to be judged by others. It's hard to get used to. We are using this album as a platform to face our fears, and to focus on the love we find through the music we create and those who connect along the way. I hope that this album gives strength to anyone who has a hard time putting themselves out there for the world to see."

Royal Teeth - Show You What I Can Do

Show You What I Can Do is the tilte of the brand new single and video from American indie pop rockers Royal Teeth.

"The song is about showing the world what you’re made of. We tend to hide pieces of ourselves because we are afraid of negativity, and I’ve noticed from my own experiences that it only holds me back from truly being myself and achieving my goals in life. This song is saying that it’s time to be brave and be yourself" said Gary Larsen, Royal Teeth singer and guitarist, on the new song, adding "My Dad is a race car driver, and I used to go a lot as a kid. When we started thinking of ideas for the music video, I became obsessed with using the race track as the location, and from there, we brought the idea to life with the help of Solar Cabin, Tunde Olaniran, and the Whitlow family. My dad is even in the video as Nora's coach, and Nora is driving his car "Underdog". A fitting name for the song and for this band."

Royal Teeth - Never Gonna Quit

American indie pop rockers Royal Teeth have announced their return with the anthemic new single Never Gonna Quit along with an accompanying music video that features Valerie Sassyfrass of the viral sensation Girl's Night Out" performance showcased previously on Ellen.

Never Gonna Quit is the first single from the band's new album to be released late 2018/early 2019.

Never Gonna Quit is the new trademark motto for the band. "It became the mission statement for the whole album," explains vocalist Gary Larsen. "It felt like we just hit restart. We didn't want to compare anything we were doing to anything we had done. We love that you can feel the aggression and the sense of urgency but it never loses its purpose or joy."

ROYAL TEETH: Professionaly Amateurs venerdì, 18 novembre 2016 16:05 by madseason
Royal Teeth - Amateurs

Royal Teeth is an American indie pop band from formed in 2010. They released their debut EP Act Naturally in 2011 and debut LP Glow in 2013. The full-length record featured the hit Wild, a spirited anthem driven by the sparkling vocal chemistry between singers Nora Patterson and Gary Larsen, that propelled the band to multiple TV, film, commercials, ads and video game placements, guest appearances on Last Call with Carson Daly and American Idol (at the personal invitation of fellow Louisiana native Harry Connick, Jr.) and slots at festivals, including Austin City Limits, and SXSW,.

Royal Teeth's new EP is released today, November 18, on Round Hill Records. It is called Amateurs, despite the fact that, after five years, three cities, two albums, various personnel changes, and hundreds of days on the road, the Louisiana quartet is definitely an ensemble of well-seasoned pros. The title is a literal etymological reading of the word: the French amateur from the Latin verb "to love", applied in this case as a mission statement and a reminder of why they do what they do.

Both the sounds and the overarching themes on Amateurs are tougher, more mature and more surehanded than Royal Teeth's previous outings. They play like a band that's honed itself down to its core chemistry, musicians who know what they want to do and how to do it. But they also play with pure joy, ease, and love of what they're doing - like amateurs.

Anthemic indie pop lovers and everybody with a spot on a feel-good melody, should stream Amateurs on SoundCloud or on Spotify now.
