A few weeks ago I introduced to my readers She Is We, the new creature of Rachel Taylor, former indie pop band He Is We lead vocalist.
As previously reported, WAR, the debut album of She Is We, will be released March 18, 2016, through Vanguard Records.

Rachel has just released the official video for Boomerang, the brilliant first single off the album.

The singer describes the clip with these words: "The concept for this video was to create complete and total chaos. The white room and lack of color represents my mind and innocence as I grew up. The colors that begin to appear represent each time I was betrayed and the passion it took to move forward. I got a little messy, but I had my phoenix moment and with YOUR help, I became the woman I am now. I used that chaos and rose from the innocent girl to the woman who won't stop fighting."

Hailing from Tacoma, Washington, She Is We are, in Rachel's words, "four people from all walks of life with a motive to serve others with their gifts and talents. Adamm, Ben, myself and Wes have all gone through hell and high water, but music has been our escape. We've endured loss, anxiety, PTSD and extreme trials throughout our journey. But music allowed us to escape in hopes that our stories may impact others."

WAR is the name of She Is We debut album: "it was a very easy title to come up with" says Rachel. "Each and every one of us is fighting a battle, and to each of us, it's personal. Whether you're for or against me, you're alongside me. So on this album, each track is a separate war, a separate battle, and I am here to share. It was very emotional for me to record this album. I was spiraling toward rock bottom but I would not – I could not – let this group of people that had lived in my heart for years down."

Rachel Taylor was half of the founding duo that comprised indie pop band He Is We. When Trevor Kelly (the other half) left the band, Rachel broke away as a solo artist with her debut EP "Come Alive", released last June 23 on Republic Records.

According to the official biography, the EP "echoes the "darker side of pop", siphoning strangely melodic hooks through a haze of intense production. She's equally likely to name check influences as wide-ranging as A Perfect Circle, Alanis Morissette, and Imagine Dragons, but this is a decidedly personal affair for her."

Rachel's built quite an impressive legacy already. He Is We toured tirelessly and moved 60,000 records in the U.S., building a diehard audience in the process. Those same fans have stuck with her, and Come Alive and impending album speak directly to them loud and clear. "I want them to walk away with peace," Rachel says. "I want them to know they're not alone. I want them to know, even when they feel silence, somebody is giving them a voice. I can't wait to see them on the road too. They've been more loyal to me than anyone in this world except my dad."
