Some random stuff today, starting from "Modern Love", a free track of an interesting pop rock rock/powerpop band from Orange County, CA called Midnight Hour. They have a new record coming soon, that will also feature this free song.   I think that MuteMath new album "Odd Soul" is fresh and exciting, with more electronics than before but also with a lot of strong tracks. It's out next week, but if you're located in the USA you can stream it in its entirety now, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live! site.   Belgian rockers Zornik have made a video for their new song "Running After You". This track will be included in their upcoming  "The Best Of Zornik", out on October 14th.
death cab for cutie

Last thursday Death Cab For Cutie premiered their new video for "Stay Young, Go Dancing", directed by Claire Carre. The song is the closing one of their last album "Codes And Keys". Watch the video clicking on the image. Also from last thursday comes the live performance of "Stay Young, Go Dancing" at the Late Show with David Letterman. Follow this link to watch it.   If you're more on a singer/songwriter mood, check out "Music For A Rainy Town", the new, honest work by thrilling ex-Dakona vocalist Ryan McAllister‏. Dakona made a great alternative melodic rock album in 2003 titled "Perfect Change". It's easy to find it on the net for a few bucks. Don't miss it if you still don't own it.

Indie pop rock band Howling Bells will join Elbow as opening act of their european tour: see dates here.   Swedish heavy rockers Renegade Five have a new EP out: it's titled "Life Is Already Fading" and you can listen to the titletrack, featuring Elize Ryd from the band Amaranthe here. The EP comes before the new full-length album, to be released later in the year.   Mainstream rockers Final Thought, from Toronto, Canada, will release their debut album "What We Need" on November, 8th. The record's been produced by Bob Freeman (Hit The Lights, Hidden In Plain View, Cobra Starship) and features the catchy single "This Party".
