Makari is a rock band from Central Florida, blending heartfelt lyrics with powerful melodies to create an infectious sound that is easy to enjoy and connect with.

The band changed their lead singer last August and is now fronted by Andy Cizek, with whom they released their latest single Control in November.

Kensington are a Dutch rock band from Utrecht. Formed in 2005, Kensington have a strong following in the Netherlands and are quite popular in Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Their new (fourth full-length) album Control, released last Friday, October 28, via Universal Music Netherlands, can be their break-through record in the rest of the world.

Control is the band's strongest effort so far, chock-full of energetic and melodic alternative rock songs with great radio potential; add to the formula the beautiful, distinctive voice of lead singer Eloi Youssef, nice vocal harmonies and expert musicianship, and you get the picture of one of the best European album of the year.

The majority of the songs on Control were recorded in Rome which, as described by the band, took them out of their comfort zone, inspiring them to make new music.

I wasn't expecting new music from Texan alternative electronic heavy rockers The Taking after the brilliant self-titled album from one year ago. So this just-released 5-track EP took me by surprise: a nice surprise indeed, as the San Antonio band is delivering more goodies with Control.

"Can't say enough about all that Dominic and David brought to the table for our new album... Their recording and producing skills really brought it all to life... On top of that, add the mixing and production of Daniel Ross, and you've got a force to be reckoned with..." wrote vocalist Alan Lozano about the new EP and its sound.

I have a soft spot for the closing number Live Your Life, but all the EP is much worth your listening, expecially if you're into Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Three Days Grace and Nine Inch Nails. The electro-power rock band 9Electric released a new video a few days ago: it's for the song "Goodbye", from their latest EP "Control".

The concept of the video in vocalist Ron Underwood's words: "A detective follows a series of killings in the Red Light District. Call girls are dropping like flies and he soon realizes that there might be two killers. Is It coincidence? Are they working together? Throw in a twist at the end and we’re having some fun."
