I wasn't expecting new music from Texan alternative electronic heavy rockers The Taking after the brilliant self-titled album from one year ago. So this just-released 5-track EP took me by surprise: a nice surprise indeed, as the San Antonio band is delivering more goodies with Control.

"Can't say enough about all that Dominic and David brought to the table for our new album... Their recording and producing skills really brought it all to life... On top of that, add the mixing and production of Daniel Ross, and you've got a force to be reckoned with..." wrote vocalist Alan Lozano about the new EP and its sound.

I have a soft spot for the closing number Live Your Life, but all the EP is much worth your listening, expecially if you're into Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Three Days Grace and Nine Inch Nails.
