Ramonda Hammer - If, Then

Let me return to brilliant rockers Ramonda Hammer and their recently released album Whatever That Means, as the Californians have just unleashed the brand new video for If, Then, the second single off the LP.

The song is a perfect summation of the band's artistic point of reference that is rich with heavy guitar hooks, reminiscent of The Smashing Pumpkins and The Pixies, and lyrical introspection.

While the music video for their debut single, Goddamn Idiot, was a hilarious parody of the show Cheaters, for the new video Ramonda Hammer takes a more sober position of exploring the pain and frustration of finding one's place in the world. Produced by Vincent Hall and directed by Michael Chance, the If, Then video finds a lonely and misunderstood girl, played by Meghan Cox, who connects with the song in a cathartic release as she watches the band performing at an underground show. The show scenes were filmed at Los Angeles' legendary DIY music venue, The Smell, which truly captivated the dark, angsty mood of the music. With breathtaking visuals that include fragmented objects frozen in space to reflect the same feeling of isolation the main character of the video feels, this video is Ramonda Hammer's most fully realized work yet.
