Cavalier Youth: new album for YOU ME AT SIX

You Me At Six - Fresh Start Fever

One of the most anticipated albums of the beginning of 2014 is "Cavalier Youth", the fourth full-length record for British rockers You Me At Six, follow-up to 2011's gold-selling "Sinners Never Sleep".

"Sinners Never Sleep" debuted at No. 3 in the UK album chart. The band were hailed as leaders of Britain's new rock scene by everyone from Radio 1 to Q magazine and The Times and having stormed stages at Download, Reading & Leeds and all over the world – the campaign finished with a sold-out show at London's 12,500-capacity Wembley Arena in December 2012. After Wembley, change was inevitable: the band had switched management company and split with their old label (Virgin), eventually finding a happy home with BMG's new recorded music arm.

The first single off the upcoming new album, "Lived A Lie", has already become the band's biggest-ever hit single, charting at No. 11 (watch the video here).

"Cavalier Youth" was produced by famed knob-twiddler Neal Avron (Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Anberlin, Switchfoot) and will be released on January 27. Watch the video for new single "Fresh Start Fever" clicking on the image above.

SCHEMATIC: Mae's Dave Elkins colorful comeback

Schematic - Color (n.) Inside The Lines

Schematic is the new project by Dave Elkins, formerly frontman of alternative pop-rock band Mae.

After a very successful decade fronting Mae, Dave packed his bags and relocated to Nashville for the start of something new. With four LP's, three EP's, and over half a million album sales under his belt worldwide, Elkins longed to refine his approach to making records, to experiment with the unknown. The result emerged under the moniker Schematic.

Elkins released the first EP under the name Schematic in 2012, and signed with Spartan Records in 2013 to release at the beginning of this month the band's first full-length album, "Color (n.) Inside The Lines", a brilliant and breathtakingly complex record you just can't miss.

Landing on a particular sound for Schematic was, and remains to be, a journey that is constantly evolving. Sonically, the album draws heavily from Elkins' progressive pop leanings, but delves into a new territory of experimentation with compelling grooves, interweaving time signatures, and unique instrumentation. In addition to Elkins' adept handiwork, the record features a veritable dream team of producers and contributors. With additional engineering and production by Paul Moak (Mat Kearney, Lovedrug); co-writes by Stephen Christian (Anberlin) and Mark Padgett (Mae); and guest musical appearances by Jeremy Lutito (Leagues), Chase Lawrence (Coin), and Eleanor Denig, "Color (n.) Inside The Lines" was a process of diverse brilliant collaboration.
