Eyes Of Verona - Restless Nights

It's always a pleasure for me discovering interesting bands from countries that are not often covered in my blogzine.

This is the case of Eyes Of Verona, a promising alternative rock act from France, influenced by both English and American contemporary rock scenes.

After an EP and several live shows, Eyes Of Verona unleashed their first full-length album "Ex-Voto" last April 28 via Inspur Music.

You can watch the recently released video for the single "Restless Nights" (filmed in Venice) clicking on the frame above, and while you're at it, check the lyric video for the song "Renovatio".

BLACK LAB: the new album is out! Wednesday, 21 May 2014 21:28 by madseason
Black Lab - A Raven Has My Hear

Black Lab's new album "A Raven Has My Heart" is officially out today!

"Andy (Ellis) and I worked for two years on Raven, trying to create music that is both more Black Lab - more true to the heart of our sound and who we are - and also completely new. the result is a deep, dark reinvention, an evocation of every album we've made transmuted into a higher substance. We believe this album will grip you hard and low and take you places you've never been" said mainman Paul Durham. "As you may know, our Kickstarter to finish and market the album was wildly successful, raising over $75,000 from over 1,000 backers. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who showed us their support. Some of the money has already gone towards a cutting-edge marketing campaign, and radio is just starting to respond to the album."

Download the new song "Unfamiliar Sky" for free and hear a full preview of "A Raven Has My Heart" at this page, where you can also find the links to buy the album. Support one of the best independent rock bands around!

A Strange Encounter for THIRTEEN SENSES Monday, 19 May 2014 21:06 by madseason
Thirteen Senses - A Strange Encounter

British post-britpop band Thirteen Senses -from Penzance, Cornwall- released their new, fourth full-length album "A Strange Encounter" a couple of weeks ago on b-sirius records.

The group recorded "A Strange Encounter" in a studio loaded in the back of a farmhouse in the middle of rural northern France: ""We wrote more freely than we ever had before, and felt completely focused on the record; it was a real gift to be able to do that. The months and years spent writing like we had done in the past; we found we didn't really need to do. It was really exciting to approach the process in this way."

Free from any expectations and pressure, the band wrote their most experimental, progressive yet highly enjoyable piece of art so far.

Get it on Spotify and let me know what you think.

Casualties Of Cool

Casualties Of Cool is a new band consisting of Canadian multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer Devin Townsend and Vancouver born vocalist Ché Aimee Dorval.

Their self-titled debut was released this week and was partially funded by a crowdfunding campaign via PledgeMusic.

I like to define the style of the album as progressive country rock, as Devin is pushing the boundaries of the folk genre with his histrionic songwriting. On his blog, Townsend stated "Casualties Of Cool sounds like haunted Johnny Cash songs. Late night music, completely isolated sounding and different than anything I've done. Che sings most of the leads, and it's probably the truest reflection of who I am in life at this point."

Have a taste of the original sound of Casualties Of Cool listening to the album tracks "Moon" and "Forgive Me".
