To Get ANOUK's new album Together Saturday, 21 May 2011 20:42 by madseason

anouk to get her together

Anouk is back!

The dutch singer has just released in Europe "To Get Her Together" via Dino Music, a division of EMI Music Netherlands.

The new studio album is produced once again by Tore Johansson (The Cardigans, Tom Jones, a-ah) and features 11 tracks, including the singles "Killer Bee" and "Down & Dirty".

According to Anouk, the new recordings sound like a mix of soul, punk, funk and rock, sort of a change of direction compared to the previous album "For Bitter Or Worse".

Plans are to release "To Get Her Together" in USA in the coming weeks.

ALPHA REV update Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:22 by madseason

Alex Dunlap, bass player for Alpha Rev, mailed us this important update about the Hollywood Records matter:

"Thanks for writing the article about our group, Alpha Rev - and for urging fans to help us out.

Since sending the mailer, we have received an outpouring of support; thanks to fans and the reach of outlets such as yours- now Hollywood records has agreed to license back our unreleased material. And for that, we give our most sincere thanks for everyone's part in this. We are truly humbled.

In exchange, we have in good faith let senior officials at Hollywood know that we will be making our best efforts to curb fan outreach to Any senior members of Hollywood records regarding this matter.

We do have extremely high hopes for this material, and are obviously concerned about Distractions on Disneys side that could be counterproductive to this newly opened line of communication."

We're extremely happy in reading this, and wish Alex and his bandmates all the best. People have the power!

Twenty years on from its original release, Heavenly Recordings issue an extremely limited 7" of "Motown Junk", Manic Street Preachers' first single for the label.

1000 copies of the single will be released to coincide with Heavenly's involvement in the Independent Labels Market that's due to take place on Berwick Street, London W1 on Saturday May 21st.

Never before released on 7", "Motown Junk" sounds as frantic, as exciting and as vital now as it ever has. Four minutes of wide-eyed, unadulterated speedball rock'n'roll – this is a perfect snapshot of the band at inception point.

The single will be available exclusively from the Heavenly Recordings stall at the Independent Labels Market on May 21st and from the merchandise stall at the Manics' Cardiff International Arena gig on the same day and stock is extremely limited. Any copies remaining after May 21st will be sold via the Heavenly or Manics websites. Manic Street Preachers Motown Junk
