Wild Domestic - New Year, New Me

Indie/alternative rock act Wild Domestic has just released a brand new video for New Year, New Me, a track from the latest, awesome EP Singular.

New Year, New Me is one of my favourite songs on the EP: soundwise, it's a sort of a cross between a classic rock track and some of the rawer songs of the Welsh band Feeder.

Citing Wild Domestic's creator Matt Carlson, "New Year, New Me is about moving on from past rejections and failures and using them as motivation. As far as the video, I wanted to further amplify the idea that I am Wild Domestic."

Watch the video for New Year, New Me clicking on the image and, if you still haven't, stream the whole Singular EP on Spotify and buy it on iTunes.

Wild Domestic

Do you remember indie/alternative rock band Wild Domestic, the brainchild of Matt Carlson? I wrote about them a couple of months ago, when they released Author, the first single off their new EP Singular.

Well, Singular is released today, January 20, and I'm happy to report that we already have a strong contender for the best EP of the year! All of the 8 tracks included in the mini-album are really worth your attention, as from the start to the end there is not a single bad song to be found.

Matt Carlson explains the inspiration for the EP: "Singular is an initial foray into a concept album. It is based on my conception of an emotional/literal car ride where the driver ends up picking belongings from an ex lover."

My favourite tracks on the EP are New Year, New Me, that reminds me of the rawer songs of Feeder; Overjoyed, an awesome  Jimmy Eat World-influenced number; the dreamy, intense Firewall; the aforementioned Author, a track that I previously described as reminiscent to Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and a punk version of Counting Crows.

So, what are you waiting for? Stream the whole Singular EP on Spotify and buy it on iTunes.right now.

Wild Domestic

Indie/alternative rock band Wild Domestic is the brainchild of Matt Carlson. Born in Paraguay, Carlson moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when he was six months old, and it is where he resides to this day.

After spending the last few years writing and performing both locally and nationally, Carlson released his self-titled debut EP, Wild Domestic, in 2015.

The follow up EP is titled Singular and is slated to be released in January 2017. The first single off the new EP is Author, a gripping rock anthem about the haunting feeling of paranoia after a relationship has ended.

Author was produced and mixed by Mike Pepe at MDDN Studios in Burbank, Los Angeles (owned by Benji & Joel Madden of Good Charlotte); it's a brutally honest, highly enjoyable, alternative rock track with a strong sound reminiscent to Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and a punk version of Counting Crows.

Download the new single on iTunes or stream it on Spotify or SoundCloud, and stay tuned for more news abiut the upcoming EP.
