Train have just released a new single and a new video off their latest studio album "California 37".

After the very succesfull singles "Drive By" and "50 Ways To Say Goodbye" (whose video features famed actor David Hasselhoff), it's now the time of "Bruises", a track which sees American country music singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe sharing vocals duties with Train's frontman Pat Monahan.

"Run" is the brand new single/video for American singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson. It's off his latest solo album "Modern Love", released last Summer through Vanguard Records.

"Run" features the American country music duo Sugarland, as you can see on the video directed by Brendan Walter for Crush Management.

Matt Nathanson will join Train as support on their upcoming european tour, from April 30th to May 12th, with dates in Holland, France, UK and Germany. Find the complete schedule here.

Straight from Pat, Jimmy and Scott's mouths: "As promised earlier this week, we had a little surprise up our sleeves (and some of you were able to figure out what it was, so pat yourself on the back)... We here at Train aren't feeling very patient, so we've decided to let the cat out of the bag early for you. So without further adieu, may we present to you our brand new song "Drive By" from our upcoming new album. We hope you enjoy! Be sure to tell us what you think and we can't wait to play this for you again on the road. The song will be available on iTunes on January 10th!"

augustana

This comes totally unexpected by me: californian rockers Augustana have called it a day. In a phone conversation with Red Bull USA, the group's lead vocalist and pianist Dan Layus provided some informations about the situation: "The two original members with me as well, Justin [South] and Jared [Palomar], have parted ways. It's a sad thing, but it's been an amicable split and it's just kinda tough," Layus reveals. "It's hard to keep a band together. We had a good run and it was a blast while we could do it, but everybody is good. Everybody is friends. It's just tough to sustain a business like that."

Luckily enough we have a new Train song to lift us up. It's called "Brand New Book" and will be played during the opening credits of NBC's weight-loss competition show "The Biggest Loser". Click on the image to hear it.

Train's Pat Monahan and Jerry Becker wrote two songs for submission, an uptempo number that wasn't used and "Brand New Book". At the time Monahan was writing these songs, he was also penning with David Hodges the track "To Be Loved", that I featured here.

foo fighters

Last night the legendary Roger Waters played Pink Floyd's "In The Flesh" with Foo Fighters at the "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" show. Watch the performance by clicking on the image on the left.

Foo Fightes will start a new american tour on October 9th, to support their last great album "Wasting Light", while Pink Floyd and EMI Music have just launched a comprehensive release schedule with CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs etc. For more info on the initiative, head on to Pink Floyd's website.

New Stuff: WILL HOGE, TRAIN, SIMPLE PLAN Tuesday, 20 September 2011 02:31 by madseason
will hoge

Something new for you. First of all, the new Will Hoge video for the first single off his upcoming new album "Number Seven". Here you can find more details about the new release.

For the song, titled "When I Get My Wings", Hoge found inspiration in an obituary he read about a 50-plus-year marriage. The video illustrates the love story from its infancy to the present-day heartache of losing the love of your life. Click on the image on the left to watch the video.

train

Then we have a new Train song. It's called "To Be Loved" and it's taken from the "Abduction" motion picture soundtrack. It may not be one of their best tracks ever, but is not bad either. Click on the image to listen.

Train are finishing a brilliant US tour with Maroon 5 and Gavin DeGraw. After the tour is over, the band will start recording their new, sixth studio album with Butch Walker at the production helm, for a Spring 2012 release, with a single out in February.

Simple Plan

Last but not least, we have Simple Plan's brand new video: it's for the third single off their latest studio album and it's titled "Astronaut". Click on the image to watch it.

Simple Plan's new record "Get Your Heart On!" debuted at number two on the Canadian Albums Chart last june, while it debuted on the US Billboard 200 at number fifty-two and fell off the week after with a complete lack of record sales in contrast to the band's previous efforts.

Billboard.com reported yesterday that californian stars Train, though still on the road with Maroon 5 celebrating the success of their last record "Save Me, San Francisco", are about 75 or 80 percent done with writing the next album.

Frontman Pat Monahan tells Billboard that he and bandmates Scott Underwood and Jimmy Stafford will likely take a little break after Train comes off the road in mid-September and then start recording in November or December with Butch Walker (with whom they toured in 2010) at the production helm! The group hopes to have a new single out in February, with the album to follow in March or April.
