A Boy Named John - So We Live | So We Die

So We Live | So We Die is New Jersey band A Boy Named John's first full length album. After the release of their debut EP Or So It Seems, the boys started writing for this album back in 2014 and worked persistently to develop a new sound of their own. Each member contributed to this album lyrically and musically in order to bring forth a work that expresses a collective personality.

After the completion of writing the album, A Boy Named John began recording the album in April 2015 at Barber Shop Studies in Hopatcong, NJ with producer/engineer Kevin Kumetz (With the Punches, I Am The Avalanche, Head North). Soon after the album was recorded and then mastered by Michael White (Rolling Stones, Whitney Houston) A Boy Named John worked independently to release the album.

In August 2015, ABNJ dropped their first single, Please Excuse The Acronym and received a great amount of hype. Then in December of 2015, they released their highly anticipated song, Don't Kill The Messenger following their show with The Academy Is at Starland Ballroom. In January of 2016, the guys headed out for their first tour along the east coast and began to build buzz for the album. A few months after the tour, they put out their next single and first music video Sir Rock and received even more attention and created an explosion of excitement for the band's album.

On June 24th 2016 A Boy Named John released So We Live | So We Die, an album containing songs with theatrical elements, powerful messages, and groundbreaking instrumentals: something that could get the attention of My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Bayside and Pierce The Veil fans. Stream the full-length debut of this young and promising band on Spotify.
