OF LIMBO - California Demon

Long Beach, CA based Rockers OF LIMBO have released their provocative new single California Demon. The heavy and sinister groove-laden track explores the concept of making a Mephistophelian bargain for diabolical favors to achieve your Hollywood dreams.

The song was recorded at Fab Factory Studios and produced by Mike Pepe (Taking Back Sunday, Plain White T's), with mixing and mastering done by Grammy Winner Jett Galindo.

The song features wicked & sinewy dark guitar riffs, thunderous drums, a throbbing bass line, and a chorus as addictive as it is memorable. The band's influences from 90's stalwarts like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden shine through on the track.

The band's Luke Davies says "The song explores the concept of "selling your soul for fame and fortune" but in a literal sense. As if the devil was real and young, innocent and corruptible people are actually coming to Hollywood and selling their soul to become a star. There's a large section of the population, like our conspiracy theory loving uncle, who believes this to be 100% fact/reality. He sends us videos of stars in interviews implying they sold their souls, or the latest Grammy performances, etc. from Sam Smith or mumble rappers dressed up as Satan. He doesn't believe this is just pageantry. He thinks it's all some kind of televised satanic ritual. It's a concept we always felt was perfect for a rock song. Innocent girl comes to Hollywood with wide eyes and high hopes, only to find she has to sacrifice a lot more than she bargained for… HER SOUL!"

The video for California Demon was directed by Tony Vercelli and filmed at Baur Films in Long Beach and Nuvisions Studios in Santa Ana. It was produced by Todd Grilli of 4th Street Productions. The band's Jake Davies says "Yes, we DID actually set Luke's guitar on fire while he played it at the end. We had to douse Luke in flame retardant spray and pray to sweet baby Jesus that he didn't get 3rd degree burns. It was definitely super sketchy at times!  On a few takes I had to run in with a wet blanket to extinguish the flames." Watch the video now clicking on the image.

The band will be announcing new tour dates in September. The band will be playing live throughout the fall, with plans to release more new music and tour throughout 2024.

Horror Films by Californian talent TALKER Monday, 25 February 2019 21:57 by madseason
talker - Horror Films

Horror Films is the title of talker's new EP, released last Friday, February 22 and featuring the single Intimidated.

Dark, moody, intriguing and endearing, Horror Films is captivating and sincerely relevant. Inspired by alternative rock, grunge music, and indie singer-songwriters, talker (stage name of Celeste Tauchar) maintains a guitar-based sound while infusing organic resonances and bringing in modern production elements. Horror Films is talker's diary, in which every single composition delves into her emotions.

talker's first EP, Horror Films aims to take her in a new life direction by overcoming fears. "I try to be super authentic and honest, and I think sometimes that, combined with the music industry's cut-throat nature, makes me feel like the girl walking down the dark and creepy hallway in a horror film -- she's definitely not supposed to go in there! Except with this EP, going in there just brings out my raw emotions and hopefully something for people to connect to," talker explains.

All five compositions that comprise Horror Films were written and co-produced by talker with the help from Dan Sadin (guitarist, FRENSHIP) and Phil Simmonds (Jessie J, Eryn Allen Kane). Mastered by Dave Harris, and mixed by Mike Pepe and Jesse Ernster, Horror Films is a well-collaborated project that speaks to the emotive power of music. The team worked to express the true passion behind the EP, and they were so successful at doing so that talker became emotional while tracking vocals.

WILD DOMESTIC: a Singular Author Monday, 21 November 2016 21:57 by madseason
Wild Domestic

Indie/alternative rock band Wild Domestic is the brainchild of Matt Carlson. Born in Paraguay, Carlson moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when he was six months old, and it is where he resides to this day.

After spending the last few years writing and performing both locally and nationally, Carlson released his self-titled debut EP, Wild Domestic, in 2015.

The follow up EP is titled Singular and is slated to be released in January 2017. The first single off the new EP is Author, a gripping rock anthem about the haunting feeling of paranoia after a relationship has ended.

Author was produced and mixed by Mike Pepe at MDDN Studios in Burbank, Los Angeles (owned by Benji & Joel Madden of Good Charlotte); it's a brutally honest, highly enjoyable, alternative rock track with a strong sound reminiscent to Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and a punk version of Counting Crows.
