A Battlecall for ZANDER BLECK martedì, 24 ottobre 2017 21:54 by madseason
Zander Bleck - Battlecall

Pop-rock artist Zander Bleck, has just released his powerful, anthemic new single and accompanying video Battlecall.

Battlecall was co-written by Bleck, alongside Caroline Brooks and Adrianne Gonzalez, and produced by Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace, Skillet, Billy Talent), AG (Katie Herzig, Larkin Poe, Glen Phillips), Mark Needham (Blue October, The Killers, Imagine Dragons) and Ben O'Neill (Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaak, Twin Atlantic).

Battlecall brings to light the importance of keeping one's aspirations in sight and overcoming any obstacles that may emerge in the process.

Battlecall opens up with Bleck’s soft angelic vocals, which slowly lead up to an explosive chorus and energetic rock sound overflowing with passion and fearlessness. "As we go through the war of life, it's easy to lose our calling. Battlecall is about always hearing it," Zander describes.

RAND's Cellophane World mercoledì, 31 maggio 2017 22:05 by madseason
RAND - Cellophane World

Cellophane World is the debut single for Toby Rand's new solo project RAND. It's the first cut off a new album from the L.A. based Australian who over recent years has gathered a swag of international fans via his previous projects including Juke Kartel and Rock Star: Supernova.

From the opening moments of Cellophane World we are drawn into a dark and emotionally raw world. Toby Rand lets us hear the deepest of his thoughts and emotions laid over a symphonically rich rock and roll landscape with swirling electro atmospherics. "It's a battle between a character torn between self-doubt and self-belief" says Rand, "and perhaps in a way this is some of my most honest vocal work as I've tried to create music that is one-hundred-percent who I am as an artist today."

Toby reached out to Grammy winning songwriter/producer Alex Geringas (Kelly Clarkson, Anastacia, Leona Lewis) and award winning mixer, Mark Needham (Blue October, Imagine Dragons, The Killers) to help him craft a new sound for his debut solo album due later in 2017.

Wanted: BEN HAZLEWOOD lunedì, 6 giugno 2016 21:33 by madseason
Ben Hazlewood - Wanted

I don't think many of you know Ben Hazlewood: he is a 27 years old New Zealand native/Australian singer-songwriter. He was a finalist on "The Voice" in Australia and has worked the globe from London to Nashville, where he recorded the single Wanted and its predecessor Paint Me Black with longtime collaborator and friend Duncan Sparks.

Both songs are included in Ben's new EP Vanta, released last Friday, June 3, on MINT Music. Vanta was produced with the help of super-famed Los Angeles mix engineer Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Pink, Shakira) and it's a (too short) collection of amazing contemporary adult pop/pop rock songs, written with the experience and maturity of a man much older than Ben. Imagine a mix between Eighties pop rock b-heroes Tim Feehan and John Farnham with a state-of-the-art sound and modern arrangements.

Cheerleader - The Sunshine Of Your Youth

Cheerleader is a new, interesting indie rock/power pop five piece from Philadelphia.

The band was formed in 2012 in Connecticut by schoolmates Joe Haller and Chris Duran; when the duo moved to Philadelphia in 2013 they began to produce and release demos on SoundCloud which drew attention from the likes of NME and Nylon.
The group expanded to a five-piece with the addition of Paul Impellizeri, Josh Pannepacker and Carl Bahner. After a year of tours which included the festivals CMJ, the NME stage at Great Escape and SXSW, the band signed to Bright Antenna Records in 2013.

After a single and an EP, the band released its full-length debut last May 19. It's titled The Sunshine Of Your Youth and was produced and mixed by the great engineer Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Pink) who, after a gig in New York, invited Cheerleader to record with him in Los Angeles.

ZEBRA & GIRAFFE are The Wisest Ones domenica, 15 luglio 2012 18:45 by madseason
Zebra & Giraffe are one of the most interesting and most loved alternative rock bands from South Africa. Their new full-length studio album, the third one, will be released on July, 23.
Zebra & Giraffe

The new record is titled "The Wisest Ones" and was mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Chris Isaak, Walk The Moon and many more).

This is what frontman and lyricist Greg Carlin says about the new work: "With "The Wisest Ones" we really just wrote songs that felt right. Whether they had a catchy chorus, or a chorus at all didn't really matter. That's not to say there isn't a lot of catchy stuff on this album; there is. We just haven't been afraid to experiment with our sound and push ourselves with this album. It still sounds like us; like Zebra & Giraffe; but it's definitely darker, noisier, and lyrically, a lot more honest."

The first single off the album is "I'll Blame You": watch the official music video now clicking on the image above.
