black lab kickstarter campaign

Black Lab, one of my favorite independent rock bands, have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new album.

"After 18 months of hard work Andy (Ellis) and I are in the final stages of the album - and all we need is your support to mix, master, manufacture and market the album" said mainman Paul Durham, adding "we're dying for the whole world to hear it, which is why we’re doing this campaign so we can raise the funds to truly promote it to FM and XM radio and to pay for publicity aimed at music blogs and other media."

So head over to the campaign clicking on the image and make your pledge.

RA launch Kickstarter campaign Sunday, 10 June 2012 01:05 by madseason
Ra

Alternative rockers Ra are going to do a new album this summer and to get some help for the making of the record, the band has launched a campaign on Kickstarter, one of the largest funding platform for creative projects.

This is what Ra's frontman Sahaj Ticotin had to say about this move: "I've been in talks with several labels all of which have made offers to fund our newest effort. The problem hasn't been the offers but the atmosphere of fear that each meeting has shown me. Having been on Universal/Republic records for 5 yrs we are very aware that this fear has affected both small and large labels. Ra is an entity that exists somewhat outside of the record industry although we have sold 400,000 cds over our career. We feel the best way to succeed with a new record would be to make it ourselves, with the help of our fans and then to partner with a label for promotion and marketing.

That said, we are trying to keep the album cost to a minimum and get it done as quickly as possible. If we can reach our goal it will cover the studio and travel cost associated with bringing out the guys to LA to work with me. I've tried to come up with exciting offers for those willing to pay $20 or more!"

So, what are you waiting for? Ra is one of the best bands around: click on the logo and make your pledge now!

And don't forget that Sahaj has just released an amazing solo album titled "Another Minute": find out more about it on Sahaj's facebook page.

QUIETDRIVE spin their new cover album Tuesday, 27 December 2011 23:50 by madseason
quietdrive

Powerpoppers Quietdrive from Minneapolis, Minnesota, began a fundraising project on Kickstarter last Summer and on July 31, 2011, just two hours before their deadline, the band exceeded their goal of $15,000 to record the cover album "Your Record / Our Spin". Quietdrive began recording the album in October 2011 and it's finally available now.

The record includes 10 songs voted by Kickstarter-donating fans. Among them, we find a great powerpop remake of the classic Toto song "Africa", a brilliant, moving interpretation of "Say Say Say", originally sung by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, and an exhilarating tumble-dries version of the famous Night Ranger track "Sister Christian".

All in all, a highly enjoyable, funny album you should check out. Listen to Quietdrive's "Africa" here for a taste of "Your Record / Our Spin".

Southern poprockers Son Of A Bad Man are in the process of recording a batch of new songs for their full length album.

To get some help for the making of the record, the floridians have launched a campaign on Kickstarter, one of the largest funding platform for creative projects.

The goal of SOABM is to reach the amount of two thousand dollars. This would cover the entire recording process of the album and a portion of the mixing/mastering of it.

"We're not trying to go into some huge recording studio with some big-name producer this time" the guys say, "We took our time and found someone we trust with facilities that will more than accommodate the sound we are looking for at a great price. Basically, we are asking for the bare minimum that it would take to get this album done."

So, if you want to help this brilliant band, head on their Kickstarter page clicking on the image on the left and make your pledge!

Also, you can listen to a great new track named "Written In Stone" here. Enjoy.
