The Black Fever is a post-punk indie rock band based in Toronto, comprised of Shoe (vocals, guitar), Pat Bramm (bass, back-up vocals), and Dan Purpura (drums).

The band's music mixes guitar-based post-punk influences with lead bass lines and propulsive drums, while reflecting the band's focus on melody and concise songwriting.

The band latest single, Marketing, was release last Friday, January 25. The single is the first track taken from a five-song EP that will be released in the Spring of 2019. Marketing was recorded and produced by Ian Gomes (Odonis Odonis, Fake Palms, Greys) at Union Sound Company and mastered by Noah Mintz.

"Sometimes the only art or images we see while going about our daily lives are those trying to sell us something" the band says about Marketing. "Walking around Toronto, you feel the oversaturation of advertisement that everyone is inundated with on a daily basis. There's nothing wrong with selling things, but it can be oppressive. We need to find a better balance between ads and public art – for art's sake."
