Blossoms is a British quintet formed in Stockport, a town just outside of Manchester, England, in 2013. After some lucky singles and EPs, the band released its debut full-length last Friday, August 5, through Virgin EMI Records: it's simply titled Blossoms and was produced by Rich Turvey (Clean Cut Kid, VITAMIN, The Misper) and James Skelly (The Coral, She Drew The Gun, The Sundowners).
Blossoms' sound can be described as classic pop-rock with Arctic Monkeys influences, with some moody organ atmospherics, synthesised hooks and traces of white funk a la Level 42. Add to that frontman Tom Ogden's delivery, that occupies the space between Richard Ashcroft (The Verve) and Alex Turner, of the aforementioned Monkeys, and you get the picture.
The album is chock-full of great tracks that can work great both on radio and in arenas. Stream the whole record on Spotify and watch the videos for the many amazing singles (At Most A Kiss, Charlemagne, Getaway and more) included on the Vevo YouTube channel of the band.
