Northern Faces - Firecracker

Fingers Crossed is the sophomore release for Albany-based alternative rock trio Northern Faces.

Released last August 24 on Equal Vision Records, it's the follow-up to their self-titled full-length debut, arrived in 2015.

"This is the most important record each of us in Northern Faces has made for ourselves personally" wrote the band about Fingers Crossed, "It's autobiographical, and it wears our hearts on its sleeve. Every single line means something to us, and not a single word was written without intention. This record defines the last two years of our lives. It explains life from our vantage point as we try to navigate the balance between 'real' life vs. following our dreams and doing what we love as we grow older, as the weight on our back seems to be growing every day. Sometimes in life it really feels like it's now or never, and I don't think that statement has ever felt more true to us. That's why we named this album Fingers Crossed".

Fingers Crossed is a record that manages to balance diversity with cohesiveness. It contains the massive pop hooks that continues to draw so many people to their previous work, but the new, moer personalwriting approach has allowed for an album where it is evident the band came to those poppier elements organically.
