Salt Lake City, Utah, art-rock band Fictionist have just released a brand new EP titled Sleep Machine via Harbour Records, along with a 20-minute music video.

For their latest work, Fictionist adopted a new mindset of letting go of the worries they often have as artists and simply enjoying the process of making a record.

The result is a collection of emotional, inventive sounds and innovated songs. The band veered left of center for Sleep Machine by using antique gear, a karaoke machine and even the recording of guitarist Brandon Kitterman sleeping on the front lawn of their house on the song You.

Provo, UT-based electronica newcomer, Robert Loud, has just released his debut single entitled, Intentional .

Also known as the lead-guitarist and co-lead singer of indie-rock outfit, Fictionist, Robert Connolly (aka Robert Loud) has shifted focus to his solo project that marks a radical break from the band, the genre, even the instrument to which he's dedicated most of his career.

Channeling dancehall-inspired electronica and 80s synth-driven ballads, Loud uses analog synths and retro drum machines in a post-nostalgic exploration of love and adulthood.

Utah cult rockers Fictionist are back with a brand-new EP, released last Friday, July 29, on Harbour/Caroline Records.

At last we have great news from the Fictionist's camp: the art-rockers from Utah will release their new, self-titled album next October 7.

From the press release: "Like Peter Gabriel in a Garage -that’s how Fictionist describes its fourth album, a self-titled surprise romp through the band’s most formative influences. Feeling liberated at the end of a contract with Atlantic Records, the Provo, UT band disappeared into area studios with producer Nate Pyfer, a 2014 Grammy nominee, for an eight-week sonic bender. The result combines Fictionist’s heralded art-rock sensibilities with Cat Stevens songwriting, Phoenix-style glitchy analog electronics, and CHVRCHES electro-pop architecture."
