Lights - Portal

Valerie Anne Poxleitner, known as Lights, is an awesome Canadian electropop musician, singer, and songwriter that won the Juno Award in 2009 for New Artist of the Year.

Lights' new album "Little Machines", her third full-length, will be released next week on Warner Bros. Records. It was produced and engineered by Drew Pearson (Switchfoot, OneRepublic, The Veronicas), with key songs mixed by Mark "Spike" Stent (U2, Muse, Coldplay, Biffy Clyro) and was recorded in both Los Angeles and Vancouver.

"I think we captured a timeless electronic sound and I'm really proud of it. This record felt like a triumph after a hard dry spell. I turned to poetry, art and female songwriting legends and found myself writing about nostalgia and naivety and just enjoying music again. It feels like a complete journey, from front to back" said Lights about the new record.

The first single released from "Little Machines" was the anthemic "Up We Go", promoted with a really funny video, while the current single is "Portal", for which the Canadian artist released a few weeks ago a much more sober video that you can watch now clicking on the image above.
