BIG STORY from Dallas Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:55 by madseason
Big Story - Losing Sleep

Big Story is a very promising Alternative Rock band from Dallas, Texas.

After having completed production on a collection of songs (produced by Matt Noveskey of the platinum selling rock band, Blue October), Big Story induced an early buzz by landing the opening slot on Seether's "Poison The Parish" tour during the summer of 2017. With newly acquired management, Rainmaker Artists (Blue October, Bowling For Soup) at the helm, Big Story showcased for renowned rock label, Razor & Tie (Starset, The Pretty Reckless, Red Sun Rising) while on tour. That showcase performance ultimately inspired the band's signing with Razor & Tie/Fearless Records (Underoath, At the Drive-in, I Prevail, Portugal the Man), and paved the way for the completion of their debut, full length album, BEAZT with illustrious producer, David Bendeth (Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach).

BEAZT will se the light of day next June 7. Meanwhile the band released the first single from the album, Daydream (watch the official  music video here), and, just a couple of weeks ago, the brand new single, and great track overall, Losing Sleep.

Courage My Love - Stereo

Canadian recording artists Courage My Love have released their new, sophomore album Synesthesia last Friday, February 3, via InVogue Records.
Produced by David Bendeth (Young Guns, Tonight Alive, Art Of Dying and a million more) and recorded in Toronto at Noble Studios and Pocket Studios, Synesthesia introduces a new arsenal of sounds for the Kitchener, Ontario, based trio who have made a name for themselves and built a strong following on a number of tours across North America and Europe.

Defined as a blending of the senses where the stimulation of one sense leads to an automatic, involuntary reaction in another, like hearing in colour, Synesthesia was titled to reflect Courage My Love's newfound stylistic maturity.

On Synthesthesia, Mercedes Arn-Horn, her sister Phoenix and Brandon Lockwood approached the songwriting phase with a poppier sensibility; Phoenix taught herself synth programming which helped shape the sound of the new album: thus CML's alternative and indie influenced songs have a new, mainstream appeal that should grant the band a huge success.

Take as example of the "new" sound the singles Stereo (watch the Emma Higgins-directed video clicking on the image) and Animal Heart. Or, even better, stream the whole new album on Spotify.

ART OF DYING: Rise Up Saturday, 12 December 2015 16:41 by madseason
Art Of Dying - Rise Up

Following last April's release of the Rise Up EP, here comes Canadian heavy/active rockers Art Of Dying new 13 song full-length album of the same name, released yesterday, December 11, on Better Noise Records.
As the EP, the album was produced by David Bendeth (Breaking Benjamin, Paramore, Papa Roach, Bring Me The Horizon) and includes all the five tracks of the mini-album.

Vocalist Jonny Hetherington had to say about the new release that "this was not an easy record to make... My father's cancer came back during the recording which he succumbed to months later and my partner in crime, founding member Greg Bradley left the band mid recording. To say I was dealing with issues close to the heart while making this record is a huge understatement. The silver lining for me is that all of the emotion and frustration came out in a beautiful musical release that the four of us channeled and put to tape. Producer David Bendeth challenged us musically like never before and we could not be more proud that through the strength of our brotherhood we indeed were able to Rise Up."
