FOXTRAX: out of The Cabin into the starlight mercoledì, 17 agosto 2016 19:20 by madseason
FOXTRAX - The Cabin

Another new band that could become huge soon: FOXTRAX -Ben Schneid and brothers Jon and Jared Stenz- is an Alternative Pop/Pop Rock band from Long Island, New York, now based In Los Angeles.

Though the three guys have been together for a relatively short time, forming as a band in early 2015, they have just delivered a surprisingly mature debut EP, The Cabin.

FOXTRAX spent six weeks writing and recording demos for what would eventually become The Cabin EP in a cabin in the woods of North Carolina a year and a half ago (that's where the title comes from). In February of this year, producer/engineer Ben Roulston (Wolf Alice, Florence + the Machine, Marc Almond) heard the tracks from the EP and after reaching out to the band, aided the production with a fresh mix. Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, The Black Keys) also connected with the band's sound and completed the EP with a professional master.

The EP release show at New York's Mercury lounge was a sell-out and their infectiously catchy debut single Underwater was #1 on Apple's "New Artist Spotlight" and was also featured on SiriusXm's Alt. Nation channel "Advanced Placement" show.

Talking about their sound, FOXTRAX have been compared to bands like Kings Of Leon, The Killers and Coldplay. I would add British band Keane: take for example the EP's opener Go It Alone and tell me if it doesn't sound like a mix of Keane and alternative/indietronic act Foster The People (with a touch of Under The Influence Of Giants too)!

However, this is an awesome mini-album from start to finish: stream it on SoundCloud and judge by yourselves.
