SycAmour - We're In Hell

Talking of eclectic bands, here's SycAmour, from Michigan, a band that draws ispiration from the imagery-laden, vividly lyrical styles of theatrical-rock forerunners such as Chiodos, Panic! At The Disco and Underoath.

SycAmour released their debut full-length album last September 2 on Hopeless Records; it's titled "Indulgence: A Saga Of Lights" and was produced by Johnny Franck (In Visions, Like Legends, Allistair).

"It’s a story about duality and how we, by human nature, contradict our beliefs, perspectives and world views; even though we like to think they’re perfect and infinite. More specifically though, it’s about Love, Revenge, Sex, Drugs, Unity, Sweat & Social Movement" said vocalist Jeremy Gilmore on the new album.

Survival Sounds: join RUBBLEBUCKET's carousel Saturday, 13 September 2014 15:24 by madseason
Rubblebucket - Carousel Ride

American eclectic indie band from Brooklyn, NY, Rubblebucket released their fourth full-length album last August, 26 via Communion Records (founded by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons, former Cherbourg bassist Kevin Jones and producer Ian Grimble).

The new record is titled "Survival Sounds" and was produced by John Congleton (The Paper Chase, Cloud Nothings, Angel Olsen).

Not an easy band to pigeonhole, Rubblebucket is a band for open-minded people who aren't afraid to sway between electro-progressive psychedelic pop, indie dance, catchy synth loops, funky horns, with the harmonious vocals of singer Annakalmia Traver to lead the path.

If you still don't know Rubblebucket, check their amazing new single/video "Carousel Ride" clicking on the image above and judge by yourself.

9ELECTRIC out with Control Thursday, 11 September 2014 21:00 by madseason
9Electric - Control

9Electric, one of the best powerful electro-rock band around, released a new EP last week on Street Smart Recordings. The band introduced it with these words: "We are stoked to release our EP "Control" to the world! This release has many of the most popular songs that we've been playing as we've toured the country this year. We hope you all love it as much as we do and we'll see you on the road as we continue our summer tour and again later this fall!".

"Control" features 7 tracks, including a bonus remix of their hit "Feel This". Get physical copies of the EP at the band's Merch Store or pick up a copy on the road.

Exit Lostprophets, enter NO DEVOTION Tuesday, 9 September 2014 21:36 by madseason
No Devotion - Eyeshadow

No Devotion are a dark electro rock/post wave band born from the ashes of Lostprophets.   I think you all know what happened to the singer of the Welsh rockers.  What you may not know is that on May 1, 2014, the other members of Lostprophets -Mike Lewis, Lee Gaze, Stuart Richardson, Jamie Oliver and Luke Johnson- announced that they would continue to make music with Geoff Rickly, who was the lead singer of the American post-hardcore band Thursday, as No Devotion.

On July 1, the band unveiled their debut single "Stay", along with song "Eyeshadow", via Collect Records. These songs are influenced by the sound of the goth/new-wave band of the eighties, such as Cure, Joy Division/New Order, Siouxsie and The Banshees.

Check the official video for the amazing "Eyeshadow" clicking on the image above.

Rainy Days

"The Theory Of Everything" is the second studio album by Life On Planet 9, the pseudonym used by Pete Murray and Neil Godfrey of American hard rock band Lo-Pro when releasing music of a more acoustic rock and electronic rock nature.

"The Theory Of Everything" was produced by Murray and independently released last August 26.

I'm finding the music of Life On Planet 9 much more interesting than Lo-Pro: judge by yourself watching the video for the single "Rainy Days" clicking on the image above.

Through the badlands with SMOKE SEASON Friday, 5 September 2014 23:55 by madseason
Smoke Season - Badlands

Smoke Season is a very interesting duo that was formed in early 2013 as a project by Gabrielle Wortman and Jason Rosen (former keyboardist of Honor Society).

Gabrielle and Jason managed to create a soulful sound that draws from their indie folk/americana roots but also to infuse electronic nuances and rich vocal harmonies to their music.

The duo debuted in 2013 with a self-produced EP, "Signals", and a self-directed music video for their first single, "Soleil".  After being released in March 2013, the "Signals" EP went on to independently sell thousands of copies and garner critical acclaim. Since then, Smoke Season has been steadily touring, showcasing their music around the country and most notably at 2014 Sundance Film Festival, on AXS TV, Bite Size TV, Balcony TV and more.

At the end of last July, Smoke Season released their sophomore EP, titled "Hot Coals | Cold Souls", featuring the amazing new single "Badlands", an haunting number with a western feeling. Watch the video for "Badlands", shot in Joshua Tree National Park, clicking on the frame above.

FICTIONIST are back with new full-length Wednesday, 3 September 2014 21:15 by madseason
Fictionist - Fictionist

At last we have great news from the Fictionist's camp: the art-rockers from Utah will release their new, self-titled album next October 7.

From the press release: "Like Peter Gabriel in a Garage -that’s how Fictionist describes its fourth album, a self-titled surprise romp through the band’s most formative influences. Feeling liberated at the end of a contract with Atlantic Records, the Provo, UT band disappeared into area studios with producer Nate Pyfer, a 2014 Grammy nominee, for an eight-week sonic bender. The result combines Fictionist’s heralded art-rock sensibilities with Cat Stevens songwriting, Phoenix-style glitchy analog electronics, and CHVRCHES electro-pop architecture."

Find out more about the new record at the band's website and watch the lyric video for the first track of the new album "Cut String Kitehere.

DOREAN LIVES: A Cold Fire From The One I Loved Monday, 1 September 2014 21:57 by madseason
Dorean Lives - A Cold Fire From The One I Loved

Dorean Lives is an alternative rock band that I'm actually digging a lot. They come from Birmingham, AL, and debuted last November with the full-length "A Cold Fire From The One I Loved", after having signed a record deal with Red Cord Records in mid-2012.

The record was produced by Joseph McQueen (As I Lay Dying) and includes the titletrack "A Cold Fire From The One I Loved", a song for which the band has just released a music video that you can enjoy clicking on the image on the left.

To find more about this great band, head on to their offical website, following this link.
