The next Big Thing from UK: THE SHERLOCKS Monday, 26 September 2016 21:54 by madseason
The Sherlocks - Will You Be There?

The Sherlocks are a young British alternative rock band from Sheffield, UK, that could really be the next Big Thing. The band consists of two couples of brothers, Kiaran (vocals, guitar) and Brandon Crook (drums), Andy (bass) and Josh Davidson (guitar).

They released their first single Live For The Moment in 2014, their 2nd and 3rd singles Escapade and Heart Of Gold in 2015 and the fourth one Last Night in February 2016.
Heart Of Gold, in particular, opened The Sherlocks many important doors, as it received airplay from BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Greg James and BBC 6 Music's Steve Lamacq.

The Sherlocks are a hard working band, with already many live shows under their belt, including the world-renowned Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Their new single is titled Will You Be There? and it's their strongest so far: produced by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild, Ocean Colour Scene) at the Rockfield studios, Monmouth, Will You Be There? was released last September 16 on Infectious Music (a BMG Company). PAPER ROUTE: dealing with real emotions Friday, 23 September 2016 17:19 by madseason
Paper Route - Chariots (Lyric)

And here it is: album number three for American indie rockers from Nashville, TN, Paper Route. Released a few hours ago on Kemosabe Records (a Californian label owned by the Sony Music Entertainment), it's titled Real Emotion and includes the leading single Chariots, which is featured in the upcoming FIFA 17 soundtrack, and is working really good at alternative radios. Watch the lyric video for Chariots clicking on the image.

When inteviewed a few days ago by All Access Music about the new album, the band said "We had nothing to lose on this album. We were back to how we started, making an album by ourselves, for ourselves. We had things written on all the walls in this house we found outside of Nashville away from everything. Things like ‘Where's the blood’ / ‘What would you do if no one would ever hear this’ etc. – Our own cheesy motivational posters. But honestly, environment impacts sound/art a lot more than people think. We weren't afraid, we were the complete opposite, we were picking fights."

Real Emotion is a classy Alternative Pop-Rock record full of amazing tracks; JT Daly & Co. are constantly growing as songwriters and overall musicians, as songs as Laugh About ItChariots, Balconies, Mona Lisa and the title-track, just to name a few, can easily testify.

Stream the whole album on Spotify and discover one of your favorite albums of 2016!

BAD SUNS Reappear Here Wednesday, 21 September 2016 15:43 by madseason
Bad Suns - Disappear Here

California's own Bad Suns released their sophomore album, Disappear Here, last Friday, September 16, via Vagrant Records/BMG US.

With producer Eric Palmquist (The Ataris, Night Riots, The Mars Volta) once again at the helm, Disappear Here is complete with thirteen tracks that serve as a follow up to 2014's critically acclaimed debut, Language & Perspective, which garnered much raise from the press.

Disappear Here is also the title of the first single off the new record: "We wanted to capture the emotion of a crossroads in life being suddenly interrupted by the ground collapsing beneath your feet," says frontman Christo Bowman about it. Watch the video now clicking on the image.

If you liked Bad Suns' previous album, or have a spot on anthemic rock with '80s new wave influences, then stream Disappear Here on Spotify now.

Walking a tightrope with RACHEL YAMAGATA Monday, 19 September 2016 14:12 by madseason
Rachael Yamagata - Over

I have to admit I didn't know Rachael Yamagata, the American singer-songwriter and pianist from Arlington, Virginia. Shame on me, 'cos she's an extremely talented artist that already released 5 EP's and three full-length studio albums. Moreover, her songs have appeared on numerous television shows and she has collaborated with Jason Mraz, Rhett Miller, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams, Toots and the Maytals and Ray Lamontagne.

Her bio says Rachel is a storyteller with a compassion for the darker side of relationships. Her fans gravitate towards her ability to articulate emotion that captures equal parts nostalgia and sadness along with a sense of hopefulness. She writes at 4am and whisper sings like a voice in your head. Rachael's songs lend themselves well to cinematic storytelling.

So it's definitely time to find her out, expecially now that her amazing new, fourth studio record is about to drop.

Titled Tightrope Walker, the new album will be released next Friday, September 23 (on Rachel's 39th birthday), via Frankenfish Records and will feature the three singles Over  (check the video clicking on the image), Nobody and Let Me Be Your Girl. "These songs were inspired by a gosh darn mystical vision. They are empowerment and grit; tonic and risk" tells Rachel about the 10 tracks included in her new work.

I'm honestly loving Tightrope Walker, and if you're into high quality Alternative-Pop, and such artists as Regina Spektor, Amanda Palmer, Fiona Apple, Lisa Dalbello, Chrissie Hynde, Jason Mraz and Ray LaMontagne, you better get it.

The great people at NoiseTrade are exclusively premiering Tightrope Walker on their site, so check the opporunity to stream this jewel now!

Six doses of Love from THE COMFORT Friday, 16 September 2016 16:14 by madseason
The Comfort - Your Heart

The Comfort is an Alternative Rock (with Post-Hardcore influences) duo from Brisbane, Australia, consisting in Liam Holmes and Dom Harper.

"The Comfort was born from the idea of striving to be a band that could provide solace in the way our favourite bands did for us when we were developing as people. We don't care if this band makes us broke, we will always carry the connections we've made because of it" wrote Liam and Dom introducing their new EP.

Titled Love, the six-track mini-album was officialy released yesterday and includes the new single Your Heart: watch the video clicking on the image.

What I appreciate the most in The Comfort's songwriting is the ability to avoid most of the cliches of the post-hardcore sound and stay focused on crafting the right melodies for the songs.

Stream the whole Love EP on BandCamp, where you can also listen to (and buy!) The Comfort's previous tracks.

The new life of HALFLIVES Monday, 12 September 2016 15:12 by madseason
Halflives - Mayday

Halflives is an Italian alternative rock band from Modena, home of the Zampone.

Raised from the ashes of the band Over (that's definitely over now), Halflives spent the past twelve months writing catchy, passionate and efficient songs now ready to be released as the band's debut album.

Empowered by the strong and clear voice of their singer Linda Battilani and the solid driving of four talented musicians, Halflives have built a loyal fanbase all over Europe and the UK, that is now highly expecting them with their new material.

Halflives is one of the few Italian alternative rock bands that sounds convincing to my ears. Watch the just released official video for their first single Mayday clicking on the image and expect more news about this much promising act.

Rising stars: H.E.R.O from Denmark Friday, 9 September 2016 21:00 by madseason
H.E.R.O - Dangerous

H.E.R.O is a rock band from Denmark. I don't have many infos about them, except they're from Copenaghen and are influenced by such bands as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters.

They consider their sound a mix of The Beatles melodies, Soundgarden riffs and Queen harmonies, a blend of rock from different eras.

I already featured their first two brilliant singles, Superpowers (September 2014) and Fall And Fade (April 2015). These two singles and the new one, Dangerous (click on the image to watch the lyric video), are included in H.E.R.O's self-titled debut EP, released today, September 9, on Mermaid Records, a Sony Music Denmark inprint.

If you like melodic anthemic rock with beautiful vocals and guitar parts that sounds fresh, energetic and highly entertaining, then stream H.E.R.O on Spotify.
