The Paper Heart of HUNTER & THE BEAR mercoledì, 24 maggio 2017 21:54 by madseason
Hunter & The Bear - Nickajack

Paper Heart is the title of Hunter & The Bear's debut album, independently released last May 12.

Brought up on a heavy diet of rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, this group from London, UK, is equally inspired by modern bands like Biffy Clyro, War On Drugs and Royal Blood and their debut album offers more than a glimpse of these formidable influences, as well as an insight into what you can expect from their raucous live shows.

Paper Heart is a collection of songs about people. Whether it's those they've met on the road, their friends/family or even themselves, it's an album of songs about the desires, dreams and shortcomings that reside within us all. Hunter & The Bear is a real, organic project –one that's built on pure passion, drive and belief in each other as musicians. With an expansive UK headline tour throughout May and June, as well as a string of festival appearances yet to be announced, why not check out the album and see why Hunter & The Bear are already being pitched as the UK's most promising rock export?

NIGHT ARGENT set fire to The Fear lunedì, 22 maggio 2017 21:54 by madseason
Night Argent - Dreamcatcher

One of my favourite alternative pop rock band, Night Argent from Pasco, WA, will release their sophomore EP, The Fear, on July 14 via Outerloop Records.

The Fear EP was written and produced by Night Argent, with additional production by John Feldmann (All Time Low, blink-182, Good Charlotte) and Steven Solomon (Sleeping Wolf, Arrows To Athens, Demi Lovato), and mixed and mastered by Brook Floyd at Rainmaker Studios in Pasco.

The EP includes 6 tracks that "showcase the band's diverse, powerful and anthemic sound, which will appeal to fans of arena-friendly alternative rock" according to the press release.

The first single off The Fear is called Dreamcatcher, "the first song we knew without a doubt would be on this record" said band's frontman Chase Manhattan, adding "The message behind the song set the tone for everything we recorded from that point on. It definitely echoes the intensity and energy we felt in the studio while working with John and his team. This record is our war cry. It's a call to the battered, the broken and the tired to rise up and set fire to the fear."

Dreamcatcher is alternative pop rock at its best: check it out clicking on the image now.

FICTIONIST release new EP Sleep Machine giovedì, 18 maggio 2017 21:24 by madseason
Fictionist - Sleep Machine

Salt Lake City, Utah, art-rock band Fictionist have just released a brand new EP titled Sleep Machine via Harbour Records, along with a 20-minute music video.

For their latest work, Fictionist adopted a new mindset of letting go of the worries they often have as artists and simply enjoying the process of making a record.

The result is a collection of emotional, inventive sounds and innovated songs. The band veered left of center for Sleep Machine by using antique gear, a karaoke machine and even the recording of guitarist Brandon Kitterman sleeping on the front lawn of their house on the song You.

If artsy indie-pop with synthesizers and dance beats and bands like MGMT, The Moth & The Flame, Phoenix or Passion Pit are your cup of tea, stream and download Sleep Machine here.

In August of 2016 Vinyl Theatre headed up to upstate New York to record at Dreamland with producers Albert Di Fiore and Alex Aldi, whose work with Passion Pit inspired the musicians to connect with him. The final album spans nine songs, each of which reveals a thoughtful message in its lyrics.

PARMALEE: just like Sunday Morning venerdì, 12 maggio 2017 21:00 by madseason
Parmalee - Sunday Morning

Do you remember my post about Parmalee from a while ago? The Country/Rock act from Greenville, North Carolina is back with its highly anticipated new single, Sunday Morning, giving fans a taste of the band's upcoming sophomore album.
Co-written by Parmalee lead singer Matt Thomas (alongside Grammy-nominated Ross Copperman and #1 songwriter Josh Osborne), Sunday Morning marks a fresh, modern melody intertwined with Parmalee's signature hard-living Country sound.

"The song is about getting back to that one person who makes you feel easy... the one that brings the crazy down a notch. It's kinda like waking up on a calm Sunday morning," explains Matt Thomas.

No Wasted time: HOT PINK HANGOVER mercoledì, 10 maggio 2017 21:42 by madseason
Hot Pink Hangover - Wasted Girl

This is a band that will take you by storm: Hot Pink Hangover is a female-fronted four-piece rock band currently residing in Minnesota's Twin Cities.

They're aptly described by their bio as "if Lady Gaga, Han Solo, and Alfred Hitchcock were to meet and have an all night circus orgy, the result of which being a brood that is sexily satirical; a glamorous shit show; a comical and musical little posse of love children."

Hot Pink Hangover's debut EP Wasted will be released next May 19, but you can already listen to most of it on YouTube, starting from the new single/video Wasted Girl (click on the image).

Wasted features 5 catchy, energetic rock tracks that will make your head shake, your foot stomp and your fist punch no stop. Promise.

The Classic Crime - How To Be Human

Five years have passed since The Classic Crime released their highly acclaimed album Phoenix, and now the Seattle rock group is back with their fifth studio album, How To Be Human, released last April 28 via BC Music. The album was completely funded via Kickstarter, with over 2,500 backers, tripling the original goal.

How To Be Human contains The Classic Crime's most mature body of work yet, featuring 12 tracks of pure indie rock in the stylings of Death Cab For Cutie meets Motion City Soundtrack. Working with longtime producer and mixer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Alter Bridge, Slash, Falling In Reverse), the band was able to challenge themselves, exploring a "happy to be here" songwriting style, while feeling at home with Baskette's ability to try new recording techniques and cement the The Classic Crime's signature tight drum work and guitar layering.

"My goals for every album is to push the boundaries a bit," explains lead singer-songwriter and co-producer Matt MacDonald, "When we started playing together back in 2003, our influences (wide as they were) were pretty apparent. With each record we’ve tried to go some place different, to incorporate different styles while maintaining core structure and textures."

Watch the lyric video for the lead single Holy Water, an amazing song with a larger-than-life chorus, following this link and the just released lyric video for Wonder here. And if these tracks are not enough, stream the whole album on BandCamp now: top stuff!
