The return of NO DOUBT martedì, 17 luglio 2012 22:30 by madseason
No Doubt

So No Doubt are back with a new studio album 11 years after "Rock Steady", which sold 3 millions copies. After that record and the consequent tour, the band went into hiatus and lead singer Gwen Stefani released two solo albums: "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." in 2004 and "The Sweet Escape" in 2006.

The new album is titled "Push And Shove" and is set to be released on September, 25 through Interscope Records. Will it be worth the wait? We'll see and hear. Meanwhile, click on the frame on the left to watch the video for the first single off P&S, "Settle Down".

ZEBRA & GIRAFFE are The Wisest Ones domenica, 15 luglio 2012 18:45 by madseason
Zebra & Giraffe are one of the most interesting and most loved alternative rock bands from South Africa. Their new full-length studio album, the third one, will be released on July, 23.
Zebra & Giraffe

The new record is titled "The Wisest Ones" and was mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Chris Isaak, Walk The Moon and many more).

This is what frontman and lyricist Greg Carlin says about the new work: "With "The Wisest Ones" we really just wrote songs that felt right. Whether they had a catchy chorus, or a chorus at all didn't really matter. That's not to say there isn't a lot of catchy stuff on this album; there is. We just haven't been afraid to experiment with our sound and push ourselves with this album. It still sounds like us; like Zebra & Giraffe; but it's definitely darker, noisier, and lyrically, a lot more honest."

The first single off the album is "I'll Blame You": watch the official music video now clicking on the image above.
Gun

Scottish veterans Gun are back with a new full length album, the first after "0141 632 6326", that came out 15 years ago! "Break The Silence" was released worlwide via earMusic Records (Edel distribution) last month, except in the UK where it was released last Monday.

Produced by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild, Ocean Colour Scene), the new record is the first one with bass player Dante Gizzi on lead vocals, while the new new bassist is Derek Brown, a former guitar technician for the band during the "Swagger" tour.

We're all just Runaways for THE KILLERS martedì, 10 luglio 2012 22:23 by madseason
The Killers

The Killers premiered their brand new, much awaited single "Runaways" today: the song is the first to be lifted from their fourth studio album, titled "Battle Born" and set to be released on September, 18 through Island Records.

"Battle Born" is also the name of the band's studio and a nickname for their home state: Nevada became a state during the US Civil War, that is where the nick comes from. "In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better" said frontman Brandon Flowers.

A series of big producers worked on the new record, including Madonna collaborator Stuart Price, Steve Lillywhite, Damian Taylor, Brendan O'Brien and Daniel Lanois. Phew...

The knob-wiz behind the new single "Runaways" is Mr. Lillywhite. The song is a typical The Killers' heartland   rocker that fans of the band will enjoy for sure: listen to it clicking on the cover pic above.
