skunk anansie

Skunk Anansie fifth studio album is titled "Black Traffic" and will be released on September 14.

The band's follow-up to the critically acclaimed "Wonderlustre" was recorded in London and produced by the band and Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Feeder, Fightstar) and mixed by Jeremy Wheatley and Adrian Bushby. "Black Traffic" will be the bands first independent release via their own label BooGooYamma Records working in partnership with 100% Records.

Speaking about the track's lyrical content Skin said: "I think a lot of people feel let down by their leaders. Everybody wants us to vote, but who for? They all fu*k up because eventually it becomes more about keeping their positions of power than elevating the position of their country".
Skunk Anansie released a lyric video for another song from the new album, called "Sad Sad Sad". Watch it following this link.

Now the Californian band has released a great video for the single, directed by Luke Ebrel and Edgar Morias (click on the image).

The story begins as "the loverunner" portrayed by singer, Carah Faye, receives a text from a lost love interest in Brooklyn NY; 4000 miles away from her home in Hollywood. In a fury of emotion, the loverunner bursts out her door, and prepares to run, on foot, all the way across the United States. Through storms, canyons, rivers and mountains, she makes her journey. But along the way, "The Chosen One", portrayed by singer Chad Petree, tries to stop her, slow her down, and destroy her; preventing her from reaching her love.

The Gaslight Anthem

Here's the new video for the second single off The Gaslight Anthem new album "Handwritten", out next week.

The song chosen for the new clip is the title-track of the New Jersey based band's fourth studio record. "The original concept stemmed from an idea I had about following the life of a record" said drummer Benny Horowitz, "How these inanimate objects hold such sway in people's lives, and how something that meant so much to someone can mean so little to someone else. And vice versa. Records have always been a huge part of my life in many ways, and I often stare at them and wonder what their story is. This idea was a way for me to tell their story.

Rising stars: AERIALS giovedì, 19 luglio 2012 00:21 by madseason
Aerials

Aerials  are a Brisbane-based three-piece that channel post-rock bliss with infectious melodies to create anthems of cinematic proportions. While doing their damnedest to avoid pigeons and holes, modern alternative acts like Muse and Interpol have popped up in the appraisals of passers-by (thank you official bio, I couldn't have said it better).

Here you can watch the video for their debut single "Silhouettes"; clicking on the image on the left you can catch the just released video for the new single "Black & Blue". Enjoy one of the most promising Australian bands.

KEANE: Black Rain video contest winner mercoledì, 18 luglio 2012 22:50 by madseason
Keane

Keane are have released a new video for the song "Black Rain", off their amazing new album "Strangeland". Watch it now clicking on the image on the left.

The video was created by Andy Marsh, who won a contest on Genero.tv, a web platform that connects music artists with the growing community of creative filmmakers around the world who are looking for ways to show their talents and grow their careers. Genro.tv partners with artists and record labels and give people the chance to make the official music video for our featured songs.

This is what Tim Rice-Oxley said about the winning video:

"There's a heartbreaking sense of a young boy's dreams gone awry, a yearning for innocent times and high hopes, of love and kindness remembered in the face of violence and fear. Of course, I can't say whether that's what was intended at all! But either way the atmosphere of this story fits beautifully with the sense of the song, and even the sense of Strangeland as a record. The ghostly and surreal mood of the video also works perfectly with the feel of the music itself -sound and visuals complement each other and give each other more power, which is the ultimate achievement for a music video."
