Veteran rocker Art Alexakis and his band Everclear are back with a brand new studio album called "Invisible Stars", released last week on E1 Music.

This is Everclear's first record of original material in six years, following 2006's "Welcome To The Drama Club".

The first single off the new album is called "Be Careful What You Ask For": "Always expect the unexpected," Art says. "Embrace the weird and the wonderful because you are probably going to get both. Don't be afraid, just be careful. Be careful what you ask for, it might come true."

THE 1975 in This City martedì, 3 luglio 2012 23:06 by madseason
the 1975

This is a song that got stuck in my head since the moment I heard it. I'm talking of "This City", a track that will be featured on the upcoming EP fron the Manchester indie rock band The 1975.

The EP, called "Facedown" is going to be released on August 6 and you can watch a video for the mesmerizing titletrack, directed by James Booth, clicking on the image on the left.

The 1975 are creating quite a buzz on the net as many sites and blogs are predicting a great future for the British band. For more info (well, not too many...) head over their website.

Florence + The Machine

Oh my god, another clip from Florence + The Machine! This is the sixth for songs off the amazing album "Ceremonials". And Flo & Co. also released the video for "Breath Of Life", from the upcoming movie "Snow White And The Huntsman", just a few weeks ago: that makes 7 in about 10 months. Phew...

The new video is for the song "Breaking Down" and was directed by Tabitha Denholm, who also worked on the videos for "Rabbit Heart", "Cosmic Love", "You've Got The Love" and "Heavy In Your Arms".

"Breaking Down", a sort of a nostalgiac take on the tour in diary format, features a sentimental tone with a Super8 feel. Watch the video now by clicking on the image above.

Shiny Toy Guns

After revealing that original vocalist Carah Faye has returned to the lineup, electro-rockers Shiny Toy Guns have released a few days ago "Waiting Alone", the debut single from the forthcoming album "III". Listen to the new single now clicking on the cover, here on the left.

The band has also been working on "LOVERUNNER", described as "an unbelievable journey filmed across 6,000 miles of the United States over the course of …25 days. One of the largest and most extensive projects we have ever attempted, #loverunner is the visual and video interpretation of our single "Waiting Alone"". The completed project is due in July, but the band has recently released three previews on their website.

Muse new song "Survival" has been selected by the London Olympic committee to be the main official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Frontman Matt Bellamy wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It's about total conviction and pure determination to win. The song will be played throughout the Games including when athletes enter the stadium, in the lead up to the medal ceremony and also as the theme for all international TV coverage.

"Survival" had a worldwide radio exclusive a few hours ago on BBC Radio 1. Click here to listen to it now.
