Boy are two Germany based girls, the swiss-born Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass, who are spreading across the internet like wildfire. Their debut single "Little Numbers" is one of those out of nowhere songs that sticks and there is nothing little about the number of people who have watched the video (over 4 million!). Boy's debut album, "Mutual Friends", is an autobiographical affair. Its 12 songs tell the story of two girls from different lands who met, became friends, began making music together, and struck a chord with everyone who heard them. The record will be released next week through Neu Grönland Records, under exclusive licence to Decca Records (Universal Music).

"Oceania" is the ninth studio album by the American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, scheduled for release next week on Martha’s Music/EMI Label Services/Caroline Distribution.

The new, much anticipated record was produced by Billy Corgan and Bjorn Thorsrud (The Dandy Warhols, Bruce Dickinson, Marianne Faithfull, Sleeping At Last, Whitesnake) and is considered to be part of the band's ongoing 44-song concept album, "Teargarden By Kaleidyscope".   "Oceania" is the first full album to feature Pumpkins' members Jeff Schroeder (guitar), Nicole Fiorentino (bass) and Mike Byrne (drums), and this is what Corgan said to musicradar.com regarding the process of working with his new lineup: 

As I told you a few weeks ago, legendary American band Matchbox Twenty has announced the release of a brand new studio album titled "North" for September 4th.

Now we can listen to the first single off "North", a track called "She's So Mean", "a tongue in cheek song about a girl who keeps doing you wrong, but you can't stay away," Rob Thomas tells AOL Music. "Like a drug, every guy and girl have had someone like that in their life at some time or another."

Alternative rockers Ra are going to do a new album this summer and to get some help for the making of the record, the band has launched a campaign on Kickstarter, one of the largest funding platform for creative projects.

This is what Ra's frontman Sahaj Ticotin had to say about this move: "I've been in talks with several labels all of which have made offers to fund our newest effort. The problem hasn't been the offers but the atmosphere of fear that each meeting has shown me. Having been on Universal/Republic records for 5 yrs we are very aware that this fear has affected both small and large labels. Ra is an entity that exists somewhat outside of the record industry although we have sold 400,000 cds over our career. We feel the best way to succeed with a new record would be to make it ourselves, with the help of our fans and then to partner with a label for promotion and marketing.

New Brunswick, New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem have a  new record ready to be to released: it's called "Handwritten" and will be out for Mercury Records, a division of Island Def Jam Music Group, on July, 23rd.

"Handwritten" is the band's fourth studio album: it was recorded at the Blackbird Studios in Nashville and produced by legendary two-time Grammy Award-winner Brendan O'Brien.

New American stars Fun. premiered a few days ago their brand new video for the  title-track of their new album, "Some Nights".

The clip, directed by Anthony Mandler (The Killers, Muse, OneRepublic and many others), is set during the Civil War and is a reflections about the tragedies of war. Watch it now clicking on the image.

It's been a decade since Maroon 5 burst onto the music scene with "Songs About Jane", their debut album which came out in June 2002. It has gone on to sell close to five million copies in the U.S. alone, producing three hit singles in "Harder To Breathe", "This Love", and "She Will be Loved", earning the group a Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

To mark the occasion, a deluxe "Songs About Jane 10th Anniversary Edition" debuted yesterday as a two-CD set that includes the demos of the 12 original songs, including previously unreleased songs like "Take What You Want", "Woman" and "Chilly Winter", as well as "Rag Doll" (a non-album B-side available only internationally) and an alternative mix of "The Sun".

Here's "Reunion", the new video off "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming", the sixth studio album by French (but relocated to Los Angeles) electronic band M83, led by Anthony Gonzalez.

The double album was released last October and is a great mix between synthpop and a more ambient sound. Gonzalez's tour with The Killers, Depeche Mode and Kings Of Leon, in addition to his road trips to Joshua Tree National Park, also heavily influenced the album.
