BRENT JAMES' Moment Of Silence martedì, 13 settembre 2011 23:03 by madseason

This is a new artist for me and I guess for most of you. His name is Brent James and, with his Nashville based band The Contraband, has released a couple of months ago an interesting album called "Moment Of Silence", produced by Skidd Mills (Skillet, Third Day, Saliva, Rev Theory and many more).

I don't own the record yet, but it's streaming on Brent's website and, for what I've heard, it's a nice work with a sound influenced by classic rock artists like Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Bob Seger and more recent acts like Sister Hazel and Better Than Ezra, with a touch of country.

The band has released a video for the title-track of the record, and you can watch it here or download it at their website.

Here's the song that millions of people were waiting for: Coldplay's new single from their upcoming fifth studio album "Mylo Xyloto", to be released on October 24th (see previous news on weChameleon).

The single is called Paradise and was debuted at 7:50am on BBC Radio1 today (this is the link to download it from iTunes).

Is it worth the wait? I think it's a nice atmospheric pop song, nothing more, nothing less. However, judge by youself clicking on the image.

The second single off the new Fountains Of Wayne album "Sky Full Of Holes" is the beautiful opener "The Summer Place".

"This song is about a house that belonged to a family for a long time, and has both good and not-so-good childhood memories associated with it for the main character," songwriter Adam Schlesinger told Rolling Stone about "The Summer Place".
